A: This is a great question, Shelly! Portion size setting 1 is the smallest amount that can be dispensed; it is around 1/15th of a cup.

Requires a component to be replaced monthly that Target does not sell
The PetSafe FlexFood feed requires "food-saver pouches" to be replaced every 30 days -- this keeps the food fresh, retains nutrients, and prevents staleness and mold. Target does not sell this item and this was verified via chat with a Target customer service rep. The PetSafe website does but a four pack is $9.95 (not bad) but shipping is $9.99 (bad!) I haven't even opened up the automated feeder but I will likely be returning it since Target does not sell the food-saver pouches.

Perfect for what I need!
Love that it does not need to be online! With the settings and power source, it does what we need! My only concern is if there is a power outage while we are gone... We will have to wait and see!

Great auto feeder

Purrfect for busy cat families!

I appreciate that we can set the quantity and frequency with ease. I also like that we can always add more food if need be.

Not worth it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the idea of this is great, but it wasn’t really necessary for my family. It took up too much space and took more time than just hand feeding my pets. It might be great if a family goes on vacation and leaves pets at home.

In all reality, though it is convenient and appears very durable, the accuracy of setting the customized times for feeding did not work for me. I tried to set alarms and food was dispersed on off times. Maybe that’s just me, but I think it’s worth mentioning. I’ll also say for some weird reason, all 3 of my extremely food motivated dogs refused to eat out of this feeder. I don’t know what that means, if anything?

We appreciate you taking the time to share these concerns with us! Due to the way digital clocks function, some discrepancies can develop between a feeder and other clocks you have. If you have ever had two different digital (or mechanical) clocks in your home and notice that, over a period of time, they go more and more out of sync with one another, this is the same phenomena. Because all electrical components differ slightly and cannot be identical to one another, even very minute differences in time keeping (for example, 0.0001 sec) can, over time, start to become larger time differences. This does mean that though your feeder will likely not go off at the same exact time as shown on another clock you have, it will be very close, within seconds or minutes. We're so sorry for any misunderstanding. If your dogs have not used a stainless steel bowl before, it's possible the sound of the food hitting the bowl may be a new sensation for them. We would recommend trying to feed them out of the bowl without the food dropping first, then seeing if they will eat out of their new bowl after the feeder activates. My cat loves it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cat loves this automatic feeder! It’s so easy to set up and I love that it helps with forgetting to refill my kitty’s food bowl. She loves always having food available to snack on in between meals. It’s also very easy to clean which is a bonus.

I liked that it has food saver pouches, and a stainless steel food bowl, it’s very quiet and it’s compact enough that it doesn’t take up space it’s nice to have a wall charger and if I’m working late it’s automatic without a hassle!

Convenient and sleek
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This auto electronic pet feeder has been a godsend for my two tabby cats! It's literally just set it and forget it! It holds 2 bags of cat food at once and lasts all week long for multiple times a day if needed. You can set it up however you'd like to utilize it for timing of feeds, which is very convenient. It's made well and looks sleek in our laundry room as well. Much better than the unsightly bowls we had prior. I was provided this product by Influenster in exchange for my honest review. Would definitely not hesitate to purchase!

Super convenient. My cat loves it!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took a few tries to get all the settings correct, but now that I have it customized to my cats needs he couldn’t be happier. It’s easy to assemble and load. It can plug in or run off of batteries in case of a power outage. Which is awesome. Little guy will never go hungry. It also has set portions so I can monitor his diet. Seriously love this item.

Great option
Great smaller feeder that was a replacement for the larger Pet Smart feeder we had that started to glitch after a very respectable 10 yrs. This one was super easy to set up and I really like the control panel va our older feeder. This is much more intuitive.

Although my dog’s do enjoy watching their food come out, sometimes if it’s not fast enough they paw at it. I truly like this. My one pup well she’s a Hefty girl. Think of her as the hippo from Madagascar lol- when he says I like them think chunky - that’s my princess. It’s good because it’s not over feeding her at all. Would recommend 10/10. Plus you plug it in so no battery issues to hit them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This feeder is more high tech than I realized. You can set time and portion for the food to be released. It’s a little tricky to set, but make sure to have the directions with you and you can do it. It releases the food on time and is accurate with portion. My cat goes running to it when she hears the food clinking into the dish. No problems with it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this product once we configured the feedings correctly. We used it for our cat and didn’t realize how infrequently she ate throughout the day until we had timed feedings set. I do like that we don’t forget about her now. One reason for my four stars as opposed to five stars was the packaging. If this company changes anything, they should change the box it comes in. It was difficult to open, making it impossible to return in the event I received a faulty unit.
