Prefer the old clips!
Not a dealbreaker, but I prefer the older version of this lunchbox that had the clips attached to the bottom of the tray. It felt easier to close the lid and then pop the clips up to secure the lid instead of the clips flapping in the way of closing the lid. We were very happy with the durability of the lunchbox we are finally replacing after 4+ years of daily, rough kid use!

Outer paint doesn't hold up well
We bought two of these back in August and after mostly hand washing and a couple of trips through the dishwasher most of the top paint perimeter is chipping off. It still seals up really well though so that is a plus. It just thinks that it's so expensive and has not even made it half the school year. One of my kids only goes to school 2 days a week too!

Color Peeling
Super disappointed. We love these lunch boxes, they’re exactly what I was looking for, but they are not cheap. On a low income, I had to save up to buy these for my 3 school-aged kids. Only half way into the school year and my daughter’s lunch box is already losing its color! I usually hand wash them, but since they said they were dishwasher safe I’ve put them in there twice and it destroyed it. They’re too expensive for this to happen. Or at least label them as hand wash only!

Durable but would be cautious about dishwasher use
Love the color of the box, it is exactly what my child wanted. The only hang up I have is that it states its dishwasher safe but the coloring is already bubbling and pealing off. I have only put it on the top rack and we’ve used it an handful of times. Otherwise the base is very durable and hopefully will last for a long time.

Fantastic Box, Hard to Find Teen Bag
We love the Bentgo Kids Stainless Steel Lunch Box and have used it for years. It’s durable, easy to clean, and holds up incredibly well. We’ve always paired it with the Bentgo Kids Prints Lunch Bag, which is the perfect size and shape for this box, the fit is spot on. The only issue is that our kids are now teenagers, and the playful prints are no longer teen-approved, especially for boys. We really wish Bentgo offered this same exact bag in sleek, single-color, teen-friendly designs. Finding another bag that fits this box as well has been surprisingly difficult. Great product — just hoping for more mature color options for the lunch bag!

Best lunchbox Ever!
I absolutely love this stainless steel Bentgo lunch box. It’s incredibly durable and feels very high quality — perfect for daily use. Difficult for children
Very large - do not fit in any lunch bag. Challenging to open for kids not very school friendly.

Issues to fix
Love the stainless and the silicon top. However, the lid clips and anchor points are somewhat bulky. They make it difficult to add into my child backpack. Also, there is not handle to carry outside of backpack. a simply stainless steel handle would make this product complete.

Do NOT Wash on Lower Dishwasher Rack !!
Beware - These are only dishwasher safe on the upper rack. If you wash them on the lower rack then the paint will peel off. If you stick a name tag on them, even with low adhesion magic tape and then pull it off again, the paint will come off too. These metal lunch boxes are way too expensive to have the paint peel off this easily. It's also sometimes difficult to close the lid with the flappy hinges especially for younger kids. There's a technique to it that they don't seem to grasp.

Fine but pops open easily
We just got this and it's roomy and sleek, it generally does an ok job.... but our daughter is reporting that the clasps will often pop open if she drops or bumps her backpack. Maybe it's because we're "overpacking it" but the only thing we've packed that's too wide for the depth of the box has been a hardboiled egg. That give you an idea of the room on this thing. TL;DR Good size width and length, but depth it lacking and the clasps cause it to open too easily

Great, but lunch tastes like soap
Bought this lunchbox over a year ago and after washing in the dishwasher, my preschooler’s food all taste like soap :( love the container size and just trying to make it so he can eat his lunches again!

Nice Lunchbox, But Not for Young Kids
Disappointed in this, especially for the price. It looks as expected, but is far too difficult for a pre-schooler or kindergartener to easily open or close. And it doesn’t easily fit in a standard kids lunchbox (my fault for not measuring the inside of the box). We have two of different sizes and it’s too big for both. I should have kept the packaging and returned.

Is It Really Dishwasher Safe?
While I love the functionality, stainless steel, and the size of this box, I question its durability long term. I typically hand wash it, but have washed it in the dishwasher twice. It’s marketed as being dishwasher safe but does recommend hand washing. We’re so early into the school year and I’ve already noticed chips in the purple coloring on the top of the box after coming out of the dishwasher. I highly recommend they stop marketing this as dishwasher safe because while it technically IS, it will wear down the coloring. Other than that it functions well, is non-toxic, and is easily handled by my eight-year-old.

Great lunchbox for kids
The only containers we use! Not thrilled that the paint peeled off even though they are dishwasher safe, but doesn’t negate the product’s usefulness. They certainly last! My son is on year 3 of one of his! We need replacement silicone inserts, though. My daughter has thrown out both of hers by accident.
