A: If you put in a Three way bulb, yes you can get three different light settings from dim, moderate and bright!

The lamp itself was beautiful, but the packaging of it was the problem. No wonder the base shattered in transit, it was literally just tossed loosely in a box. I love Target but they're packaging procedures could seriously use an overhaul compared to packages I receive from all other retailers. I had to return the lamp in store an hour away in order to get another one because if I just reordered I knew the odds were it would be broken again.
