I recently bought a special edition book at Target during their “Buy 1, Get the Second 50% Off” promotion, and I absolutely loved it! The deal made it so much easier (and more exciting!) to grab more than one book, especially special editions that we don’t always get at a discount. I really appreciate when Target runs these book promotions — they make shopping even more fun and help book lovers like me grow our collections without feeling guilty. The quality of the book was amazing, and the whole experience was great. I truly hope Target brings this promotion back again soon because I would definitely take advantage of it again!

Intense and amazing
“Have faith in yourself. You will always be enough.” Saeris is now a Fae-vampire and fully mated with Kingfisher. Their love is eternal and I love how they are a true unit and working together. A few spicier scenes would have been nicer but overall I am obsessed for these two. The side characters are just as memorable and of course Carrion steals all the scenes that he’s in. I can’t wait for him to stand up and reclaim his throne! And little Onyx is the bestest fox ever. There are so many adventures in this book it’s so hard to put down because each chapter feels like a cliffhanger leading to the ultimate cliffhanger at the end!! My heart stopped a few times as some scenes just tear you apart. So many dangers ahead but I trust in Kingfisher and Saeris and cannot wait for what will be an epic conclusion!

Book itself? Wonderful and absolutely exquisite. The shipping time? Great, came in real fast. The way it was packaged? Uh… yikes. I have no clue how this book wasn’t damaged in this flimsy little plastic pocket it was placed in. No padding paper or bubble wrap to speak off. Just thin plastic between the book and the outside world. When I saw it sitting on my doorstep in this type of packaging, I swore I was gonna open it to find damage on such a pretty book. Luckily! It seems someone along the line was gentle with it. So thank you unknown person!

Book was messed up
The book came in a paper envelope type packaging. The bottom edge of the book was scuffed up & the back hard cover was bent. I had to go return it. Luckily the lady at target that helped me with the return was super nice & helpful. Books need to be shipped in boxes with at least some bubble wrap. Thankfully I was able to purchase another copy from Barnes & Nobel & they shipped theirs out in a box.

No bonus chapters!
Super bummed this edition does not have any extra chapters in others POV. The author has said in interviews there are 4 editions all with different POV chapters (one from Carrion) yet this "deluxe limited" has ZERO. Still reading it though and the story picks up right at the end of the first book.
