[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sent this carseat from stellar testing to test and review. First impression when I took it out of the box was that I loved the way it looked! Design was nice. Installation was quick and easy! I have three kids and this was my first time using the slide feature on a car seat and it’s a game changer!! I thought it made getting baby in and out so much easier!! I would highly recommend this car seat!!

I will start with the features I liked about this carseat. It is light weight, which was a nice change to my current carseat, especially since my baby is 11 months old. The installation in the car was very easy and secure. My husband said it was one the easiest carseats he has installed. The onboard slide was easy to maneuver and I liked that it had a red and green indicator on it, so that you knew you had locked it back in the correct place when sliding it back. This particular feature was not very helpful for me though because I have a van with two car seats in the middle row, and each carseat is in a bucket seat. I think the slide board would be very helpful though for first time parents or grandparents who are placing this carseat in a middle seat and don't have other carseats next to it. While these features listed above were nice, they are not the top features I look for when buying a carseat. I did not like the handle on this carseat. It was not easy to move up and down, and it would sometimes get stuck. I also did not like that the safest position for the handle while driving is upright. I keep a cover attached to my carseat since it is winter. With the handle being up, the handle and cover block the seat mirror, and I was not able to see my baby while driving. I was also not a fan of the straps. The material felt cheap and flimsy. There were also thick seams on the straps that did not make the tightening and loosening smooth when getting baby in and out. Overall, I would say this carseat is just okay. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to someone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to test this car seat that I received from Stellar Product Testing Panel! As soon as I lifted it out of the box, I was pleasantly surprised with how lightweight it felt. It feels like it is heat quality even though it is not heavy. I was also happy with the amount of padding that this car seat has, which is something I look for especially for newborns. As a busy with car seats in two cars, one thing that I always procrastinate about is car seat installation since it’s such a pain. I was so impressed with how simple the installation of this seat is! Each side has a latch with a button to press to expand the length of the strap. The total installation time was two minutes! The feature I was really excited to try was the slide feature. To slide the car seat toward you, there is handheld button on the bottom of the seat which makes it very simple. The slide is smooth and there is a gauge which turns red when car seat is pulled out and green when it’s ready to drive. I like that this feature is on both sides of the seat so it doesn’t make a difference which side of the car you install your seat in. The slide comes out to be flush with the door of my minivan. This is very helpful when my body is sensitive postpartum and I don’t have to lean over to strap the baby in the car seat. It’s a great feature for everyone but I’m sure this is even more helpful for parents who have health issues or back pain. Overall, this car seat is definitely a game changer for busy parents. The fast installation, slide to get baby in and out, and lightweight seat all make life a little bit easier. The fabrics and padding and very nice and the carry handle is simple to adjust.

We thought it had a pretty good look but it was missing some design features that would've made it something we'd recommend to friends. The sun shade was a bit short and could really benefit from an extension. The headrest cushion didn't have a way to latch and would fall downwards thus getting in the way. The base was missing a stability leg. We did like the slide feature which made it easier to lock in. The rigid LATCH connectors made it a super easy install. Our favorite thing was the weight which was just under 8 lbs. This item was received through the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently was picked from the Stellar Testing Panel to help review the new Safety 1st Onboard Slide infant carseat and I couldn't have been more excited! After a short wait, I received my carseat and after opening and reviewing the manual I quickly realized that my daughter had actually outgrew the height requirements. I was devastated! Even though we aren't able to safely use the carseat on a day to day basis, I still wanted to check it out because of the sliding feature so I installed it anyways! The carseat it's self is super light weight which I LOVED and really appreciated! The base was fairly quick to install into my vehicle and I really like how it had visual indicators showing the seatbelt was tight enough as that's been one of my biggest worries when installing a carseat base. It also is adjustable to securely fit the height of you vehicle seats which was a definite plus! The sliding feature was amazing as well. It glided real smooth and without issues, with just the squeeze of your hand, bringing the entire carseat to you! If my daughter wasn't as tall as she is now, I would use this carseat over my old one any day! 10/10 recommend!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I received an email from the Stellar Product Testing Panel about this car seat I was so excited. Our previous car seat was fine- but I never loved it and I was excited to try something new. Straight out of the box this car seat is great. I was instantly impressed by the sleek design and soft fabric. While we aren't using the infant insert anymore, it felt padded and comfortable for a newborn. Even without the insert my 5 month old fell asleep instantly when we began driving, which tells me she agreed it was quite comfy. The ability to adjust the height of the straps was intuitive and the straight across handle bar made carrying the car seat in/out of the house easy compared to other car seats we have tried. The highlight of this car seat is the slide feature, offering the ability to pull the car seat with minimal strain or effort. I found this feature to be both easy and helpful. Where this car seat struggles is in its size and compatibility with popular strollers. The base is quite bulky and takes up more space than I would have liked. With a 60-pound dog we regularly travel with, it made the space rather cramped for him. This car seat is also not compatible with our Uppababy Vista stroller. Especially since this product was tested in the winter, I didn't want to take my baby out of her warm, comfortable car seat to bring her into a store with me via her stroller. Instead I would park near the cart corral and put the car seat straight into the cart. Not ideal, but I made it work. Overall, I would highly recommend this car seat if you have any mobility concerns. My husband has back problems and loved that he didn't have to get halfway in the car to get the seat out. I would not recommend this car seat if you have a small car, often travel with pets, or already have a stroller that it is incompatible with.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this infant car seat from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. The first thing I noticed was that the seat was very securely packaged in its box. I’ve seen a lot of seats that just sit in a big box with lots of room to bump around. The car seat base is hefty. It’s not a base that’s easy to carry from car to car. But the install of that base was so fast and easy. Using either the LATCH or seat belt install for the base seemed almost full-proof. With LATCH, the base slides side to side a bit, which is the nature of rigid LATCH attachment, but something that you need to get used to. The seat belt install is tighter and doesn’t slide at all. I really appreciate the tension indicators for the seer belt install. It leaves no room for a difference of opinion of the belt is tight enough. I actually installed the base faster with the seat belt. Unfortunately, the slide feature didn’t fully work in my car because of the shape of our back seat. I suppose it could be helpful if I had to place the seat in the car from the opposite door. The only cautions I have for the seat come from a few requirements that are listed in the manual. The first is that the car seat handle must be upright when the seat is installed. Also, the seat must touch the seat in front of it (driver’s or passenger’s), or be as close as possible. That can limit the cars in which this seat can work. Also, how close is considered “as possible?” The barse also must be completely flat on the car seat, which can rule out middle seats with a jump. I still think it’s a great seat, especially for first time parents who aren’t experienced in car seat installation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a mom of 3, I thrive off of convenience! Anything to make things easier when you have a car seat involved is a win in my book. Upon receiving the safety 1st slide car seat from stellar product testing panel, I immediately loved the sleek design and soft material. It is the lightest car seat I’ve ever held and I have 3 babies under 3 so I’ve had a few different ones. The slide out feature is so convenient and such a nice feature, the latching base provides a super secure placement. The only con in my opinion is how heavy and bulky the base is. If you’re going to move this base to another car at any point, I’d recommend you taking a few extra minutes to do so. Overall I love this seat and I would recommend it to other parents.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a fantastic infant car seat; I was surprised at how much I loved it! The slide feature made buckling a 15 lb baby into the car so much easier than I expected. I can just place her in slight in front of me instead of having to lift her over and into the car. I was nervous that the slide feature was going to be off balance and tip the car seat slightly as I put baby in, but it stays stable. There are also great safety features, such as a space that is red when the slide feature is pulled out and turns green when the seat is properly secured. Installation was a breeze! We use the Latch system, and it could not have been easier. Instead of fumbling with lining up the latches, there are yellow bars built into the car seat that line up with the car’s latch system. Just a quick, solid push is all that’s needed to line up and connect to the latch system. Installation took literally only a couple of minutes and also had safety indicators to reassure that the car seat was installed properly. Other notable key features that I loved is the light weight seat (truly a back and shoulder saver!), that it’s airline friendly, and the way the infant car seat lines up within the seat itself. It doesn’t smash into the back of the car’s seat and leave indents like other infant seats we’ve had. I wish we would have had this seat sooner to save our captain’s chairs! The only thing that needs some improving with this seat’s design is the mechanism that allows the car seat handle to move. It has a button on both sides of the handle, and you need to push both buttons at the same time to make the handle pivot. I prefer to be able to rotate it one-handed. Especially when having my hands full with all of the stuff that comes with a baby. All and all an amazing car seat that I would recommend to anyone and everyone. The installation was good overall - (in all honesty my husband installs our car seats and he said it was as easy as the other car seat we own). The slide feature is cool, but personally we keep our car seats in the garage right now so they don’t get too cold in the winter and don’t get too hot in the sun, so we always place our baby in the car seat from the house and remove him similarly - if you do the same, you may not experience a difference in that process. The car seat is not as smooth when buckling up or pulling up/down on the handle. You have to click in the back part to move the handle with a bit of force for sure and it moved in sections for me. My husband did it a couple times and it was easier after a bit for him, it was the same for me. It’s on the bulkier side (not heavy though) and closing the seat belt it was tighter to reach and get to.

The car seat itself was very nice, light weight and neutral colors. I loved the car seat itself but found the base to be very bulky and extremely heavy. It was not as easy to install as I had hoped. I struggled to get it tight and when I tried to unlatch it from my car, I had some difficulty. Maybe I need more practice! The slide feature is nice but I think overtime I would use it less since it doesn’t slide out very far. The car seat itself was extremely light which I really liked! Overall, I think this is a nice car seat for an infant if you don’t plan to remove the base from your car often.

I've always struggled to get my LO in and out of his seat, esp with all the kicking and fighting, but this seat solved my problem. The safety slide makes getting in and out a breeze, and I no longer have to dread outings, esp when it is hot outside and I don't want to work up a sweat just getting my child into the seat. My only complaint was that the straps were a tiny bit difficult to adjust, but once I moved past the learning curve on it, it was easy. Installation was also a breeze - took all of maybe 5 or ten minutes. I highly recommend this seat and we are planning to purchase another with our next baby. For reference during the review of this product my daughter who we tested this with is 9 months old and about 17lbs! She very comfortably fits in an infant car seat and loves the car! We also drive a 2020 Tiguan! The look of this car seat was really nothing new but the design is so new and interesting! With its new added sliding feature you don’t have to lift the car seat sideways into the car you simply slide out the base click the car seat in and slide it back into its locked position. My daughter is rather light so I really didn’t think it would make a huge difference but let me tell you after a full day or running errands (getting in and out of the car multiple times) it was really so helpful! It just makes life with a baby that much easier, and what new mom doesn’t want that?! As far as installation goes that’s what made me stress a bit! I think it’s just that I’m a car seat safety freak so I really just wanted to make sure I had the best/safest install possible! This just meant that I took a decent amount of time to read the manual all the way through and took the install step by step. I reviewed the install process a time or two just to be safe but after going over the directions it really wasn't all that hard to install it really was just like installing any other car seat! My favorite things about this seat were its new innovative slide out features and ultimately that my daughter looked just as comfortable in this seat vs our old one!

At first when we got it we were amazed at the quality of the car seat and the size of it. My baby fits very well, it’s a lot more spacious than his previous car seat and we were happy about the way our baby fit perfectly well while it still being spacious. The look and design is super modern, I love the design and the simplicity of it and love how affordable it is. The sliding feature on the base was such an awesome feature for us, we love that we can slide our little one out of the car seat without having to reach in so far to get him out. I will say that even if you don’t want to use the sliding feature, this car seat is very easy to take out of the base regardless. It’s very accessible both way’s, we don’t struggle taking him out or putting him in. The installation process was also very easy, my husband had no problems putting the base in at all, we did like how it had the little opening to guide the seatbelts which made the process easier for us to install the base without the seatbelt getting tangled if you prefer that option, it’s easy to install it that way. However it has a LATCH system which is also super easy to install the base, so both ways are very easy. Other brands that we’ve tried were a bit more complicated but this one was very straight forward and very simple, it has very simple instructions and we both loved how easy it was to install the base. I also love how secure it is and I feel like my little one is very safe. My favorite part of this car seat I would say would be the way that the car seat is designed, I love that the car seat is spacious and not so tight around my baby and I love that it’s so modern looking, the colors which were dark gray and black, are very simple but it makes it look like a high end car seat at an affordable price. I feel that it was thoughtfully made to make your little one more comfortable and safe so that’s a huge plus for me. If your debating to get it I would say go for it! You won’t regret it!

Though my son has almost outgrown the height limits on this item, I can tell it has a great design. This feels about 2-3 lbs lighter than the carseat we are currently using and easily engages for proper installation. The sliding feature makes it easier to lift the seat in and out of the car. Great for sedans or other compact vehicles. I also really like the rigid anchor arms on the base. This has a lot of the same features as our old carseat, but the design is much more sleek and user engaging. My son was not very enthusiastic about his first outing and fussed most of the time, though, like i said, he is on the upper limits of being able to fit this carseat. I’m sure with time he would grow more accustomed to the whole process. Overall this seems like a new and improved design of an already essential form of carseat.

First impressions were that it is a good looking car seat that fit my black interior so it looks sleek. It is spacious which was something I was looking for since my baby has been growing fast. I like that the space provides comfort, or at least it seems that way because my baby seems to cry less and enjoy car rides a little more than before. The installation process did require going through the directions, but once installed it is easy to click in and carry out. Overall recommend this car seat if you’re looking for a spacious option for your baby.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Safety 1st onboard slide is a really cool idea that makes it easier to get your baby in and out of the car. I recently received this product as part of a Stellar testing panel. I had never seen or used a car seat base with a sliding feature. With a simple squeeze of a lever, the entire infant carrier will slide to the side about 8”. The carrier itself is also pretty lightweight while not feeling cheap or weak. I have a bad lower back so this is a great product to make sure I am not leaning/bending forward with a lot of weight. I could see this making the task of loading and unloading your infant much easier for shorter people or people with large vehicles. The car seat has a nice look with black with grey accents and a grey sunshade - my favorite color combo! The materials are not high end but for the most part seam very durable. The sunshade is very thin but does the job. Installation was pretty easy. I like the seat belt method and this base has a lock off release lever that makes it easy to route the seat belt through. Another thing I like about the base is that there is a green/red indicator that lets you know with confidence that the sliding feature is latched in the proper position. One feature that threw me off was that the button to loosen the harness straps is under the cover. You have to put your finger through a small hole in the cover to release the button and adjust the harness. That was not intuitive so I had to look through the instruction book to figure that out. Otherwise, the functions of it works fine. All in all I think this is a good quality product with a cool and innovative slide feature. This would be great for anyone who has trouble getting their carrier into the car.

I received the Safety 1st Onboard Slide with SafetySlide through Stellar Product Testing Panel and I'm so glad that I did. Installation was very easy, we did it using the vehicle latch and the tabs helped ensure that everything was in place safely and correctly. The base is heavy and sturdy, making it feel very safe. The seat is very well padded and my baby seems very comfortable in it which has made longer car rides much easier and more bearable. I especially love how lightweight the seat is, making it easy to take in and out of the car, especially with the sliding feature. I definitely recommend this car seat and look forward to continuing to use it!

Here’s my breakdown: **Look and Design:** The car seat has a simple, clean design, and it looks roomy. The expanding shade could be sturdier—it feels a bit flimsy and cheap, but honestly, it still gets the job done. **Slide Feature:** I can see the intent behind the sliding feature, but I don’t think it’s super practical in my situation. Since the car seat is on the left side behind the driver, the slide doesn’t extend far enough to make loading my baby much easier. Maybe if it were on the other side, it would work better since I’d be leaning left? Maybe I’m delusional, but for us, it's just okay. You can see in my pictures that in and out they are not too different in terms of making baby more accessible for us. **Installation:** This was by far the easiest installation of the four car seats we’ve installed in our cars. It features a metal rod that connects to the car seat anchors, which is a much better option than the seat belt style. This made it way more rigid and easier to set up. **Favorite Part About the Car Seat:** Before using this car seat, my baby would cry a lot in the car, and I wasn’t sure if it was the seat itself. Since switching, he’s been doing much better, and I think it’s because the seat feels more spacious and comfortable for him. The fact that it's lightweight makes it easy to take in and out of the car, which is a huge plus for me! Overall, we’re so glad we received this through the Stellar Product Testing Panel! It’s comfortable, easy to install, and the spacious design has made a big difference in my baby’s comfort. I’m especially grateful for a car seat that keeps him calm during rides. :)
