Sony ULT FIELD 3 Bluetooth Wireless Speaker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Sony ULT Field 3 is a great portable Audio device with a IP67 rating and shockproof from small drops and water. Great battery life and thumping sound it’s great for around the home, garden or work depending on your job or days out down the beach etc. Out of the box then fully charged it’s a breeze to set up with super fast Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and sound to match its really great to have as a grab and go audio device. It comes with a detachable strap if needed i find is really handy in certain situations just in case of any drops even though it’s built like a tank, Sony’s build quality glad fully never changes on anything they create. Great device to own I’m really happy with it.

It's a pity that you can't send sound via type-c like JBL, it sounds very good

It connects quickly and holds the correction to my phone over some distance. Switching off the ULT makes oral podcasts better. Switch it back on for great bass boost to my musical preferences. Fells great, sounds great, looks great. No need for anything else.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To qualify this review , I am not a hi-fi enthusiast, or a sound quality engineer . I use portable wireless speakers to listen to audible books , spoken word , music of all types , and pod casts. This is done mostly outside , in the hot tub , and in various locations in the house. My honest opinion of the Ult field 3 , is that it is the best speaker I have used that fulfills all my requirements. The size and weight is easy to manage , the carrying strap is useful, especially juggling drinks whilst changing locations . The controls are easy and intuitive, the speaker instantly connected to my IPad , and volume can be adjusted on speaker or iPad, as can pause etc. the battery last a long time , easily 24 hours at about 1/3 volume , half volume is enough to place at the other end of the room , and full volume is just too much for my requirements, ( I have neighbours) A quick 15 minute charge will give a couple of hours playing music , and a full charge takes about 3 hours. The ULT button , is great for music , and adds the necessary bass for hard rock and orchestral.for spoken word I prefer not to use ULT , as it does lower the crispness of speech What else do I like ? , the unit is well made, and sealed , I do like the fact that it is waterproof ( most travel speakers aren’t , and dampness will damage the magnets in the speakers) in fact I could drop it in my hot tub for 30 minutes and it would be okay , a claim I would never test ! The unit can be set to power down if not used for 15 minutes ,and can do other things I will never use like answer a paired phone To sum up , it is an excellent speaker , loud enough for any use , last a long time and is well engineered , it is not a stereo speaker on its own , but who listens to hi-fi in the garden or on the beach I am very pleased with this , and would happily recommend to anyone wanting a good quality portable speaker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First used at a family BBQ with an android mobile phone and an apple i phone. Connection to both by blue tooth was easy. The sound quality was excellent and enjoyed by older and younger members of the family. The sound quality was also good at a distance. The ULT button boosts the bass if required. We left the ULT button on as we felt the sound quality was improved by it. The ULT Field 3 speaker was used all afternoon and the battery power was not depleted. the battery button in the rear of the speaker tells you the state of the battery (very useful). As with all Sony products the build quality and design is excellent. It is lightweight and easily portable and is provided with a shoulder stap for those that prefer to carry this way. Instructions provided are enough to get you started. The full instructions are available on line but are about 98 pages and take sometime to absorb.

Extremely easy set up via Bluetooth and tweaking for personal choice via Sound Connect. Sound is fab with extra boost from ULT - can definitely hear the difference when using it. Very versatile speaker, easy to position (vertical or horizontal) and light to carry particularly with the easy to attach carry strap. Battery life is excellent with quick charge time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This speaker was a big surprise. The sound performance is quite incredible for its size and it is so easy to use. You can set it up using the Sony Sound Connect App which is very intuitive and also is easy to connect to other devices just using the the bluetooth connect button on the speaker to directly pair to a phone or tablet. I find the size of the speaker just right for portability, its small enough to but in a suitcase or backpack for holidays and day trips. The other bonus is that you can use the speaker to charge your phone via the USB-c port which is very handy if your out and about and the run time off a charge will last up to 24 hours. I'm not sure I will use the speaker with the added shoulder strap but it is a nice edition for someone who wants to carry it around. Overall I find this is a very well built and durable speaker, especially with its water, dust, rust and shock proof qualities. I know this speaker will get lots of use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First impression on unboxing the ULT Field 3 Wireless portable speaker, was that it was a really nice looking unit, even my wife was impressed by it's looks. Pairing was easy and the unit was soon up and running, the sound was really impressive, good overall frequency range with a pleasant rounded bass. Pressing the ULT button increases the bass considerably, personally, I preferred the normal sound without the ULT boost, but this is just a personal preference. I like the fact that the speaker is compact and light so easy to take with you to the beach etc, it comes with a carry strap, useful for when on the move. This speaker is fully water and dust proof and can also be linked to other Sony wireless speakers. I have recommended this speaker to a couple of friends, as I think it's great value for money, especially when you consider the sound and build quality, and after giving them a demonstration, they too were extremely impressed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a perfect size for indoors or outdoors, not too big to take up loads of surface space but big enough to give an all round smooth sound. Size wise is about half A4 ( magazine) and easily portable with a shoulder strap included. So easy to pair too, no messing at all and you can even create surround sound by pairing it with other Bluetooth speakers you may have . Time will tell on its IP67 qualities but it sounds like it’s built to last and certainly isn’t a plasticky cheap item. The sound quality was clear and smooth and no distractions of flashing lights etc… . It’s easy on the eye, has clear controls and has been perfect in our motorhome.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unboxing the Sony ULT Field 3, I was surprised how compact and light the wireless speaker was! First thought the sound was going to mediocre at best. Surely something this compact simply cant produce a deep base sound from a housing this small. First thing to do was charge the unit with the supplied USB C cable fitted to a PD compatible AC power adaptor, charging times are an average of 3 to 3.5 hours for a full charge or if you are in a hurry a 20 minute charge will give you around two hours at a respectable volume. Once I gave it a full charge I set about linking it to my phone, this process was easy by pressing the “ST pair” button on the speaker and searching for it on your Apple/Android Bluetooth settings and linking to it. That done, I was eager to play some of my music on the ULT field 3. The following was tested with the ULT button activated on the speaker this typically activates the powerful Bass boost function. My son was in the same room as me when I first played a track from my music library from my iPhone. First reaction was a jaw drop from me, then my sons wide eyed reaction on his face. The first thing he said was “WOW that sounds deep” and it took me back to when I had my first powerful HiFi with Big speakers back in the day. The bass quality was excellent, so I moved the field 3 around the living room to see if its deep bass stayed deep, reflective properties of a room can affect sound from speakers dramatically especially with different products of this type tested. The ULT Field 3 bass qualities more or less stayed the same equally, with its sharp clarity and crispness from the drum high hat and cymbals. High volumes can produce distortion, the ULT Field 3 copes very well with high volumes tested by me at a garden party on our last heat wave. I had my guest looking around for my music centre but the ULT Field 3 was hidden by one of our plant pots. Our guests was amazed by its small size and excellent sound that came from it.....A few were considering in purchasing the unit for themselves! The speaker comes with a quality shoulder strap making it easy to transport the unit which can be easily fitted by pulling out two water proof covers situated at the top and attaching the strap with its fittings. Talking about water proof the unit is IPX7 and dust proof IPX6. The unit has a power saving feature that it will turn off after 15 mins of no activity. This can be turned off by a button next to the USB charge port covered by a water proof cover but will reduce the running time of the speaker. There is one cool feature with the supplied USB C cable, you can use the speaker as a power bank to charge other items such as a mobile phone etc. My honest opinion? I love the unit, value for money and above all its sound!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product arrived very well packed and there was no damage at all. I was initially surprised at the size of. it. I expected it to be smaller, but was pleasantly surprised. It feel extremely well built and the buttons were rubber and felt good. I was surprised at the sound quality from such a smallish product, but as I like heavy bass the was a bonus. Would I recommend it to a friend well, that is a resounding YES! I have a high quality sound system and this little product was equal to some of the speaker I have at home. I would like to have seen an Alexa compatible device so maybe that is for the future.

Good looking design and even has it's own carrying strap for when you are on the move. Bass sound is extra smooth, Waterproof ,Shockproof, Dustproof and 24hr battery life on a full charge. We take it in garden to listen to our Favourite audio. You will not be disapointed with this purchase , Enjoy at home or on the go.

I think the field 1 is a better deal without the ult button it no good coustom eq has better bass than the field I'll break it in see if the sound gets better

This is an amazingly powerful speaker which is beautifully clear even at half volume. No distortion and beautiful base.
