My child’s dentist asked me to find out the exact percentage of hydroxyapatite in the toothpaste I had been purchasing from Target. When I reached out to Boka via email, I was surprised and disappointed to find that no one could provide a clear answer to this very straightforward question. Given that hydroxyapatite is the key active ingredient in some Boka promotes, I find it concerning and frankly, misleading that the company is unwilling or unable to disclose its concentration. Transparency is essential, especially when it comes to products related to children’s health. After doing further research, I discovered that several other brands openly state the percentage of hydroxyapatite in their formulas, which helped me make a more informed choice. As a result, I will no longer be purchasing Boka products. I am genuinely disappointed by the lack of transparency and accountability, and I hope the company reconsiders its approach to customer communication and product labeling moving forward.

We’ve been using Boka toothpaste for years now! Cool Target now carries it. My kids love this flavor. I have sensory issues with mint, so I like exploring other flavors too. Love that there are healthier options on the market now. This paste doesn’t leave a dry feeling in the mouth like some. Still has enough texture to get teeth nice and clean. Flavors are mild and nuanced not just sweet and overwhelming.

Tested positive on mercury, arsenic and other bad chemicals. Avoid at all cost

I received this product in exhange for my review. I am very pleased with the Boka Flouride-Free Toothpaste. It is perfect for my littest who likes to be involved with teeth brushing and wants more and more paste. I appreciate that this cleans, freshens break but is flouride-free and the convenience of purchasing through Target is great. My older children thought it was a bit too sweet for their liking as they now prefer minty fresh breath, but the youngest definitely likes the taste.

Ease/difficulty was equal compared to any other paste. My child said the flavor was “yummy,” and after trying it myself, I’d agree—it’s fruity and sweet, something kids would actually enjoy using. I like that it’s nano-hydroxyapatite based making it a good alternative to fluoride. Since there’s still mixed research around both ingredients, I like the idea of alternating between the two to balance potential risks and benefits. I love that target now has a hydroxyapatite toothpaste so I don’t have to order it directly from the company or a specialty site. That convenience definitely makes me more likely to keep using it. Also, it’s a bit less expensive then the alternatives I’ve seen for this type of toothpaste. Overall would recommend for those wanting fluoride alternative.

This toothpaste’s flavor is so delicious. It reminds me of a fruit smoothie. It’s so tasty that even picky kids shouldn’t have a problem with it. I absolutely love this toothpaste because it’s completely clean even by European standards. It doesn’t contain any nasty and controversial ingredients including SLS. I love that it remineralizes teeth with the use of n-HA. Since it doesn’t contain fluoride nor other harmful ingredients, there is no need to rinse out with water which is perfect for little ones that haven’t mastered spitting and rinsing yet. My kids love this toothpaste! The tube is easy to use, and the strawberry mango smells and tastes great. The toothpaste is a good consistency. The tube is small however for the price so I’m not sure it’s a great value, but the actual product is great and I’d been wanting to try out this type of non-fluoride toothpaste on my kids for a while. We were recently given the Strawberry Mango toothpaste to try in exchange for an honest review, and after using it for a little over a week, my 8- and 6-year-olds are both loving the flavor. I also really appreciate that it’s fluoride-free and uses nano-hydroxyapatite, which makes it a safer option for protecting their teeth against cavities. This is definitely a product I can see us repurchasing again and again. My only complaint is that it's a bit more expensive than other toothpastes on the shelf.
