    Disappointed

    I'm writing this review, not to rate the product but to rate the packaging inside box even though outside packaging wasn't the best. This detergent & another one were not wrapped in plastic or a covering as some items in the past. Since this wasn't done, I have loose powder on all my other items in box. If these had been contained separately, this wouldn’t have happened.

    Mystery ingredients

    A&H Washing soda contains 88% Sodium Carbonate but the other 12% is not specified. When 1 ounce is dissolved in water, the solution is cloudy. When filtered, there is a gelatinous precipitate suggesting an agent added to prevent caking, starch maybe? Would not use as a alkali to adjust pool or spa pH.

    Humidity is high in Florida

    I really like the washing soda booster, and we use it every wash cycle. We have 4 dogs lying around on dog beds and sheets. The sheets get washed every day so there is plenty of laundry for a detergent booster. I would have given this product 5 stars but for the fact that most of the time the whole box is a hardened clump that the wife must break apart prior to use. She gives me some grief about having to bust up the powder. I know this doesn't affect the product, but would it be possible to think about putting the powder into a plastic bag before putting it in the box?

    Get the tough wash day problems solved

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this product several years ago, remembering the advice from my mother. When I have tough stains or the garment has that old smell or the white garment is no longer white, I use hot water and a 1/2 cup of this washing soda with regular detergent. It has not failed me. My wife buys the clothes detergent that is a thin sheet and yes for day to day washing, it is ok. I have not tried this washing soda with the thin sheet detergent.

    Terrific laundry booster

    Not only does this work well with laundry detergent, it works great for stains on fabrics that are washable. I use it in conjunction with hydrogen peroxide.

    Very Stiff and Faded

    This left my clothes very hard even after drying with my dryer balls which has ALWAYS left my laundry soft. I even tried a dryer sheet and they still felt stiff and a few idems looked faded. Now I love it to clean my home but sorry, not for our laundry plus I started braking out with a horrible rash after we started using this even though there's no fragrances. Something in it wreck havoc on my skin! Sorry for the 1 star because I love Arm & Hammer products. I will continue to use this to clean house.

    AMAZING

    Laundry Soda is the best thing ever!!! It’s rare seeing them borax is there but won’t touch it. So when I did see Laundry Soda I would buy as much as I could the most I bought was 8 thats all I could get!!! Bc I had used laundry soda a lot and done so many things with it they started calling me stain master but now since I became homeless after a big of a quad accident I can barely can I afford anything and if I can even get a ride or where to sleep…. I don’t use it bc I don’t like or even when I’m able to see you I can’t afford to have you, then on, then on. But we I can get to that point hope to see you, able to see, when I do see, then so on then so on….

    Use alone or with a mix of products

    I mix this with borax and a laundry powder and soak my towels and bedding in it twice a year. It removes any build up from body oils and build up in my washer!
