Raquel MarÃ-n es neurocientÃ-fica y catedràtica de FisiologÃ-a en la Universidad de La Laguna, donde coordina el grupo de investigaciÃ3n de SeñalizaciÃ3n Celular en Enfermedades Neurodegenerativas de la Facultad de Medicina.

Se formÃ3 en BioquÃ-mica y BiologÃ-a Molecular en la Universidad AutÃ3noma de Madrid y se doctorÃ3 en Biomedicina en la Universidad Laval (Canadà). Durante casi una dÃ(c)cada desarrollÃ3 su carrera en NorteamÃ(c)rica, en centros de referencia internacional como el Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center y la Universidad Rockefeller.

Es autora de màs de 130 artÃ-culos cientÃ-ficos, numerosas monografÃ-as y una de las voces màs reconocidas en divulgaciÃ3n neurocientÃ-fica en español. Ha sido ponente en màs de cuarenta congresos internacionales y conferenciante habitual en àmbitos acadÃ(c)micos y divulgativos. Ha recibido, entre otros, el Premio a la Mujer Investigadora en Biomedicina de la Universidad Laval y la Medalla Europea al Trabajo de EconomÃ-a y Competitividad.
