SILK, PLEASE change back to old version!!!!!

SILK, please bring back the older version! This new one is gross! It’s thinner and less creamy and just tastes bad! I have been buying this for years but I won’t be anymore, I’m so sad!

Change in flavor along w/the return of small cap

These small caps are ridiculous. I can barely open the carton now! Silk debuted them some time again, phased them back out, and here they are again. But - more importantly: my son and I now get horrible stomach aches from Silk' Organic Unsweet Soymilk. We've been drinking it for years as our primary dairy-milk alternative, but something has changed. I noticed my own stomach aches last week or so, tied it to Silk, and stopped drinking it. I thought it was just me, but my son noticed this week that the milk has a new, bad flavor for him and now has also had stomach aches. We have 5 cartons in our fridge and I am going to see if the store will take them back. What's changed?

Disappointed: Flavor is now artificial and off-putting

I’ve been a loyal Silk Unsweetened Soy Milk drinker for a long time. Even though I’m not a fan of the gums in the ingredients, I kept buying it because the flavor was consistently good. Unfortunately, this new version is a massive step backward. It has a strange, artificial aftertaste that wasn't there before. I won't be buying this again until they go back to the original recipe.

    Off flavor

For years I have bought soy organic unsweetened soy milk. Wonderful product! Of recent (March, 2026) the flavor is off, though the expiration date is May, 2026. What is the world happened? Did you add some extra ingredient or have my taste buds changed? I'm very disappointed.

    Silk unsweetened organic soy milk

Nutrient dense, no added flavors or sugars, creamier in coffee & baking than skim, coconut, almond or oat milk. Unfortunately, Target charges tax on this item. No other stores do. I will no longer purchase it here.

    Pain and Sadness.

I came to America from Poland in 2010. I am a vegan that drinks quite a lot of soy milk. When I came to America, I found this milk and it has been my go to since 2010! Recently, my life was met with catastrophe, the soy milk I use 2-3 times a day, had been compromised. I thought to myself “Surely it’s a bad one, I will just get another”. It’s been six cartons of pure dread and horror. The recipe really changed, and with it, my happiness. I wake up, go to make my coffee, and a deep dark sadness reigns over me, every morning, with the reminder of how a 16 year routine has been ruined. My life was going great those 16 years. I hope this doesn’t ruin the next 16… Please revert the changes Silk, you don’t have to make a public announcement, or apologize, just change it back, let us know you did, and we can all continue our lives.

    Strange taste

I bought four containers of unsweetened silk soy milk and it all had a very strange flavor that was between carboard and thin almond milk. I have been a big fan for many years but I wouldn’t buy this again. I hope you didn’t change the recipe. I would like to know when it will taste as good as it used to.

Unsweet Soymilk dated 5/16/26 have a diluted taste

The first carton (stamped 16 May 2026 15:03 48-0994 L10-7) tasted bland and diluted, so I threw it away and bought another carton with the same date, which also tasted the same as the first carton. Did the formula change or was there as issue with the batch dated 16 May 2026?

    New formula is VILE

I usually LOVE Silk unsweetened, and my family goes through 4 cartons a week. However, I bought 4 cartons yesterday and the taste is completely different. It is DISGUSTING. I had to double check that I didn't accidentally buy off-brand almond milk. My beloved Silk unsweetened now tastes bitter and chalky. It leaves a terrible aftertaste that makes me want to gag. Unfortunately this was the only unsweetened brand of soy milk that I am able to find in my area, but I guess I'll have to switch to something like Aldi's "plain" soy milk, which contains some added sugar. The four cartons of Silk are undrinkable and will have to go down the drain. What a waste of money and food. Ugh.

Changed Flavor Again - But Now Undrinkable :(

Absolutely gutted! Once again they've changed the flavor. Though historical changes haven't been great, the latest turns this into an entirely different milk. It's worse now than many of the others I never much liked on the market. It went from a family favorite to something I wouldn't touch with a pole. I am so annoyed I have to return my whole batch now. What the hell is going on?! It doesn't even taste like a weaker version of the original. It's almost synthetic now. Honestly, foul.

    Chalky New Formula

We have bought several of these a week for years. We almost couldn’t believe how badly multiple cartons have tasted since the new shipment of organic unsweetened soy. It is very validating to hear that the other reviewers have had similar experiences. I can only hope that Silk is transparent in helping us understand if this is a one-off issue or if we need to find a fundamentally different option. Such a disappointment. We can attest to the chalky taste (“reminds you of Play-doh”).

No more froth - inconsistent product

Add me to the list of disappointed customers due to the inconsistent product. I've been using this for years as my daily "milk" in my latte - works great, froths great - until now. Apparently you've changed the formula or updated something and I've now wasted $$ on 3 cartons that do nothing but create water bubbles that breakdown immediately. I realize "frothing" isn't listed as a product feature, but it's worked this way for years - so you've changed something.
1 reply from Danone team - 17 days ago
Thank you for your review of our Organic Unsweet Soymilk! Many consumers have a great outcome when it comes to frothing; others may not have the same outcome. After extensive research, we can conclude that frothing isn’t something we produce the product to do. Because there are so many variables when it comes to frothing, we can’t guarantee the product will froth with every batch produced. That said, if you find that there are any other issues with the product or if you have further questions, please contact us using the form on our website, and we'll be happy to help. - Jack at Silk

loved for years, but recent cartons are disgusti

i have been buying this soy milk for over 6 years, it’s the only one i buy and i have recommended it to so many people. it has always been amazing. very recently something has changed- it is disgusting. i thought it might have been a one-off, but i just bought five cartons (i buy and go through that many every week!) with the 5/16/2026 expiration date and they are absolutely horrible. i don’t know if the formula recently changed or if a large batch of cartons have gone rancid, but they are absolutely disgusting. i’m going to have to throw them out- not only do they taste horrible, i’m not even sure if they are safe to consume. i really, really hope this is a production issue and that this isn’t how this product is going to taste moving forward. i am so disappointed!

    TERRIBLE NEW FORMULA. NASTY!!!

Recent formula change has made this once great soy milk terrible. Have been drinking silk organic unsweetened soy for years and loved it. Recently noticed a change and now it is undrinkable. Tastes chalky, and smells like chemicals. Nothing like the old Silk. I thought I had a bad carton so I bought more and same thing. Turns out it's a new formula. Does not work. Disgusting ! Will not buy again unless old formula is brought back.
