Q: What are differences between the caplets and the softgels
submitted by Waw - 1 year ago
A: Hi! Thank you for reaching out! Caplets are capsule-shaped tablets with a smooth coating, while softgels are typically wider and semi-transparent

Worst diarrhea ever
After sitting in one of two porta potties at a wedding with severe diarrhea and vomiting and sweating so bad and I couldn’t tear open my packets of Imodium and I was stuck in there so other people couldn’t use it. Finally people came looking for me and found me. I told them I couldn’t get my Imodium open so they had to find someone with a scissor to open it. Luckily one of my aunts had one so I finally got to take them. For a product like this that people need in a hurry, the packaging is the worst it could be!! I have learned to cut some out and put them in an empty bottle so I will never have this happen again.

Hack: opening Imodium blister packs
Hack: opening Imodium blister packs Instead of trying to peel back the paper on an Imodium soft gel capsule blister package, use a pointed instrument (point of scissors, tip of knife blade, tine of a dinner fork) to poke a hole in the paper seal on each side of the gel, then pry up the paper between those two holes. Then holding the blister pack, turn it over and push down on the clear plastic so the Imodium capsule drops out.

Terrible packaging
I have used this product for almost five years. While the product itself works effectively, the packaging is horrible! Every time I open the package, it will either break my finger nails or I will get a cut on my finger. Last year, while visiting Canada, I bought a package there and it is effortless to open it! Simply use one finger to push down the soft gel and it will come out easily. I attached two photos: the one on the right is what I bought in Canada. Why the packages in the US are so awful to open?! There are so many customers already commented about the difficulties of opening the package for many years but no improvement! Please do something about the package to make our life easier!

Too difficult to open. Does work good
I get so frustrated. Worked 15 minutes to get an Imodium open. In the process of opening it I lost it it because it popped off bar and can’t find it so a child may be able to find it and put it in their mouth so so much for child safety. This is ridiculous.

Great features
I am so excited to see that this comes in softgels now. I have been using the caplets for years and haven’t had trouble with them, but the softgels are so much easier to take. They are so much easier to swallow. Thank you for a great product.

Packaging
If you need to take this product. Than you don't need a package harder to get in then Ft.Knox. Especially with the type of medication this is. You don't have the time.

Good med. Wish I could open the packages to use it
Shame on you imodium & every generic as well. You say we shouldn’t be having trouble opening the packages. You KNOW we are. I have to use a curved sharp grapefruit knife. The FDA just requires single dose packages. There are plenty of meds in blister packs that are openable. Yours are not in that category.

Bubble opens?
Using box cuter, knife and scissors to open, this is a disaster. If you do as instructed and bend the corner back, it breaks off. If you live through cuts and jabs, the product is fine if you don't bleed out before the pill (and the fragments of the stabbed pill) goes down.

What sick mind decided to package these caplets so that they are very, very difficult to open? Being ill is bad enough. Cruel!

Soft gels difficult to open
Male, 72 years old. I prefer the soft gels to the tablet; but they're so difficult to open. I have arthritic thumbs and cam barely grip the blister pack to open the gels. Please provide the soft gels in a bottle where us older folks can easily access them; and at our age group "child-proof lids" are more of a hindrance to us than to the children!

Impossible to,open
I just finished painstakingly removing these from their packaging and sincerely want to wish the designers of said packaging uncontrollably diarrhea. You should be flogged.

Hard to open
I would like to know why you can’t put the caplets in the softgels in a bottle like the liquid. I don’t care forthe taste of the liquid. Just open the cap and take out dosage. The packaging of the caplets and softgels are very hard to open. It would be more convenient if they were just in a BOTTLE.

Poor packaging
It appears that most complaints are about the packaging and I will add my review to that complaint. Even though the packaging has been complained about for many years, there has not been any effort to make it easier to open the soft gels. Needed scissors to get the soft gels.
