A: You could use an app controlled bulb in this lamp. Just check the bulb specifications and settings to make sure that using the dimming function won't interfere with the USB charging port. Thank you for the question.

This lamp was perfect for my needs EXCEPT that its adjustability depends on hand tightened wing nuts. I tightened them as much as I could, over and over, and each time the weight of the shade caused the top arm to unexpectedly crash down on the table. Could stay put 1 hour or as much as 8 hours, but it always crashed. Dealbreaker, had to return it.

Now, I have this beautiful lamp that has a large span to light across both monitors. It's perfect. And it's beautiful. I was worried it would look chotchke brass, but it is not. It is a beautiful warm antique gold, just perfect. It will be classic and last for generations. Great quality.

Just the right size. Base, height and shade. Sturdy without being too heavy. Adjustable neck makes for a unique design as well as direct light focus. I couldn’t be happier. I purchased others from lighting stores and this is WAY more attractive and functional.

Somehow the lamp I ordered is not brass all over. The arms and base are black. Other than that it appears to work fine and was easy to get set up. I'm not returning it because it isn't worth the hassle but do be warned of this issue.
