Loved this so much BUT the top was really flimsy. Was scared a heavy lamp would puncture through the cane flat surface. Needs more counter support. Would be great if you did custom piece of glass for the top

Needs modifications to be used/flimsy top and shelf

This has an aesthetically-pleasing design and nice scale for a small space where I intend to use the pair of nightstands I purchased. However, the top of the piece and the "shelf" are made of extremely thin, see-through caning that cannot support any weight. I am now deciding whether to spend $50 plus (per nightstand) to have custom plexiglass sheets made or to return the furniture. The nightsand cannot support any kind of lamp, book, drinking glass etc. without caving in (as it comes in the packaging). Another example of modern furniture gone wrong. Sigh. This is why I usually stick to antiques.
