Q: Is the middle part for freezing if so how do you properly freeze it so it doesn't explode?
A: You CANNOT put fruit or ice cubes inside the tube. The tiny little opening at the top of the tub is too small to insert anything larger than a straw.
submitted byE in STL - 2 years agoA: Hello Hello - That’s a great question. Yes, the middle tube is designed to store ice. Thanks for asking! - Christopher
submitted byChristopher - 8 years agoTarget staff supportA: We have never used the center section for freezing. We use it to infuse flavors, like fruit, into the beverage.
submitted byTexas transplant - 8 years agoA: I fill the fill the middle part with about 3/4 water to allow for expansion and leave it in the freezer until I am ready to serve my beverage. I have had the pitcher for over a year and haven't had a problem with exploding.

Q: There is some major confusion about the tubes accessibility. There does NOT appear to have any access to insert ice cubes, only water. Please advise if the top with the straw-sized hole is removable.
A: Hello Cruella - Thank you for inquiring about this beautiful 2.4L Plastic Pitcher. To answer your question, the top is removable to add ice cubes. It is a twist motion and takes about ¼ turn to release and secure. Let us know if you have any other issues. I hope this helps – Sam

Q: Many Target answers here state that you can fill the center tube with ice cubes. How??? Please explain how you fit ice cubes in the center tube.
A: Hello Tricia - That is a great question. The pitcher has a center tube that can be filled with ice or water. If filling with water, once filled place it in the freezer to freeze. Once it is frozen you attach it to the underside of the pitcher lid and it will keep the beverage inside the pitcher cold. Hope this clears things up for you. - Carmen

The 2.4L Plastic Pitcher - Room Essentials™ center tube is removable, and ice cubes are dropped down the tube through the open top, then the tube is reattached to the lid. Target appreciates you. Thank you. - Kay

Q: Can you use this pitcher without the middle infuser? How many cups would it make without it in?
A: I just tested this. The pitcher holds 10 cups ONLY if the middle insert has been removed. If you add the middle insert when there are 10 cups of fluid in the pitcher the contents will then be at the level of the spout and slop out. With the middle insert it holds ~8 cups, maybe a bit more if you have steady hands.
submitted byMango Indigo - 4 years agoA: Hi Marissa -Thanks for stopping by! We do not recommend that you use this without the middle insert. This pitcher has a capacity of 2400 ml (approximately 10 cups). I hope this helps! - Katrina

Q: Hello, I just bought this pitcher, but there are no instructions on how to fill the inner tube with water for freezing. The hole is so small it looks like it needs some kind of needle to fill it. Please advise.
A: Target-how exactly do you put fruit in that tiny straw-sized hole? And since that's the only opening in the tube, exactly how would fruit inside the tube infuse into the water in the pitcher?
submitted byE in STL - 2 years agoA: Hi Beachgirl - Great question! The tube in the middle has an opening at the top that attaches to the lid, and the tube can be removed from the pitcher. Some of our guests fill this up to freeze or they will put ice cubes or fruit in the tube (yum!). I hope this answers your question. - Katrina
