A: Hi Inquirer! All of our products, including the 20 Gal. Latching Tote , are made of food safe grade polypropylene or polyethylene plastic. These materials have been approved by the FDA as food safe. It is the same material used to produce all of our food storage items. To ensure we offer only quality and safe products, no PVCs, Latex, Teflon, Phthalates chemicals, fungicides, Bisphenol A (BPA), or antibacterial chemicals are used in our manufacturing process. Sterilite does not use any harmful materials in the production of our products.

I only bought 4 and they have held up so great for about 2 years now (surviving 2 moves and my destructive husband) and they are the only huge durable storage tote I’ve ever found that aren’t 🤢hideous with a bright lid.

These are great...Much stronger than the transparent ones... I'm using them to replace the corrugated cardboard boxes in my storage, which always breakdown through use over time. I'm glad Target now has more of these in stock so I can buy more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I got these latch totes I was so impressed by how heavy duty and sturdy they were. I’m able to store a lot of items that have got a good weight to them and can lift them no problem with the handles. When they stack they also don’t shift which is a bonus! Love the color too - looks really sleek and goes well anywhere in the house.
