Q: The Simple Human trash bags are not wide enough and we have to stretch them to fit on this trash can. Anybody know if there is a bag that is compatible? Thx.

A: Actually, no they can't. They are too big.With the way the inner can fits inside the outer can, the bags don't stay put. I will continue to stretch the bags until Target can come up with bags that fit

submitted byThe Wright Group - 2 years agoBrand expertA: Previous answer is incorrect. I have tried Target's tall kitchen trash bags for this can and the bags are too wide and too short. Anything heavy pulls them off the sides and into the bottom.

I got this in lieu of a diaper pail for my son’s nursery. It does a pretty good job of keeping concealing the poop smell. (Now when you open it, that’s a different story! Haha) Starting solid foods definitely has cause the smell to permeate a little, but if I bagged the poopy diapers in grocery sacks, it would be fine. Honestly, it does a better job at containing odors than my simple human garbage can that’s in the kitchen and was probably x7 the price. The black color is sleek, but there were several in store that were scratched, so if that is important to you - be selective. The step on the can works great, and I love that you can pull the lid back and it stays open. (Very handy during diaper changes!)

This trash can is incredibly poorly made. If trash ever gets into the metal portion of it, past the removable black portion, your nose will never know peace again. And it will, because the odd shape of it, like another reviewer said, with the flat back, makes the bags get stuck in it when full, and then tear. I have tried everything to clean this and nothing has ever worked. The mechanism for the step has an open bottom and I suspect that is where the stench is coming from, but it’s not worth the effort when the lid is pitted from rust, the lid flings open too fast, and it’s not 13 gallons but rather 11 so regular sized kitchen trash bags bunch up in it anyways. Buyer beware!!!

This trash can is okay, not great. I wish I had bought a different one. It looks nice enough but it's cheaply made. When I step on the lever to open it, it bangs against the wall. Tall kitchen trash bags are shorter and wider, so they don't fit very well.

I love this trashcan. I have one for trash and one for recycling. It doesn’t take up a lot of space, and unlike many newer trash cans it has the full plastic liner not just a plastic ring. It has a sturdy foot pedal mechanism and a quiet slow close top.

Only thing good is the cost. Much cheaper than you’ll find anywhere else…and who wants to spend a lot on a garbage can of all things, right? But here’s the deal…the way this trash can is built it makes me angry at least once a week! It’s not totally round, there’s a flat side in the back, so once a bag is filled it will get stuck in it! And if you have filled it with anything heavy be prepared for your bags to get ripped - even with the best bags out there. I have never swore so much at an object before!!!! Beyond frustrating.

Wish I could have been refunded. this trash can arrived dented and they put the full ups shipping label on the actual trash can.- not a box or packaging. The sticker was impossible to remove without taking off massive sections of paint/top coat. So confused on why anyone would do this. Would not suggest ordering anything like this online from Target..

I was in desperate need of a full size trash can and this was the cheapest option out there for a high quality 13 gal trash can under $50. Not only is it a steal, the round shape let me put it in a very tight space out of sight, behind my couch. Similar trash cans were over $100 which is plain silly to pay for a trash can. I'm not sure why so many people have experiences with this bin denting, I bought this bin in store, took it on a bumpy city bus and walked about half a mile home with it and there are no dents at all and I definitely did drop it and bump it tons of times.

The design of the can is really pretty but the capacity listed is incorrect. It says it fits 8 gallon bags and I tried to fit my 8 gallon target trash bags and it literally only reached half the height of the trash can. Then other standard 30 gallon black trash bags are too big for it so the trash can is an ambiguous size. I can't even return it because it's too big for me to bring to the store
