Q: What is the height of each shelf? I know the shelves are adjustable, but want to make sure there is at least 13" between each. The photo albums I am putting on them are 12" high by 12" deep.

A: With the shelves put at equal distances the top opening would be 13 1/8 h. The middle and bottom opening would each be 12 5/8" h.

Q: The Carson bookcase states in the item info its frame is hardwood, this bookcase states particle board. This one looks nicer and cost more. Is it better quality?

Does what it's apossa do. Looks ok, but pretty cheap construction. Particle board with minimal quality hardware holding it together. Not too flimsy but not like real wood. Not too difficult to assemble. Ok at this price.

Instructions on assembly very through. Step 2 & 5 "Do not tighten the HIDDEN CAMS in this step" needs to in BOLD PRINT! Step 7 sentence on unfolding the back needs in bold "UNFINISHED SURFACE UP!"

Additionally, the assembly instructions were a bit confusing. Some parts were mislabeled with incorrect numbers, and others had no labels at all, which made the assembly process frustrating.
Despite these issues, the final result looks great, and the bookshelf does its job. It would be much better if the labeling and assembly instructions were improved.

1 year ago I lived 10 miles from the plant, know there products very well. Also have been to there store so you can see all there products first hand thats why I did not hesitate to order the book case online.Very good construction and it looks great.

This product offered the perfect color, Estate Black, not as dark as black would be. Really like the option of moving the shelves. Fairly easy to put together.

I ordered a 48" bookcase. It is only 36". I expected good quality wood, and it is poor quality veneer that chips and peels. It was a nightmare to assemble. It doesn't fit my needs, and if I didn't need a bookcase so badly, I would return it. I hate it!!

It's just an average bookcase made of some type of particle board. added molding on top and bottom are a nice touch and add strength to unit. back cardboard will not hold up to books being pushed against it.

Had 5 Sauder bookcases at my other house in a long hallway. We moved & downsized. I bought another bookcase from another company which did not work. I went back to Sauder, bought 2 bookcases & was not disappointed. Was easy to put together & I love the color! Would order again from them!
