A: Ours would too, so we affixed it higher than the door clears, and it's fine. The other benefit of this higher placement is that the shower liner doesn't hang low in the tub and stay wet or get moldy.

A: I looked to see if I saw the ones that I purchased. Did not see them. Mine are open and just slip over the rod, they have a decorative feature on the front. I bought my son one in a different color and just got the hooks and works great. It is just your preference in style.

A: I used basic plastic rings as I felt they moved easier across the bar than the metal ones I used previously which were the hook style. They caught on the junction where the two bars meet. You may not have that issue and it's definitely just user preference.
