From Minka Aire comes this large, contemporary outdoor ceiling fan in a beautiful oil-rubbed bronze finish. The design features three oil-rubbed bronze finish molded ABS blades with a slight fold construction that offers just a bit of added depth to the look. My second unit just went out,I purchased two of these fans one for outdoors and one for indoors. The one outdoors,which is 100% under shelter on a vaulted cedar porch.This is the second failure.These units were installed by certified electricians,my advice don't purchase them for outdoor. The first unit lasted about 16 months the second unit about 12 months.The warranty obviously doesn't cover them These units will be my last of this brand.

The fan looks nice and sleek, but it does not move much air, and it is NOISY at all levels, even the lowest setting. We've had our electrician try to make it more quiet, but no luck.

Great air movement, light could be a little brighter. For some reason there is a delay in unit turning on when we hit the switch, but it could be the way it was wired. Looks fabulous, and is very silent. Used as indoor fan in large bonus room.

I purchased this fan to replace our darker fan that we had for many years. This fan is in our living room with an 18' ceiling. I also purchased the 72" downrod. This all was easily installed in about 45 minutes by an electrician. The high ceiling prevented us from doing it ourselves. This fan is a nice update and I like the ability to switch the fan speed at the wall switch plate. I plan to purchase again with a smaller length blade for bedrooms.

Pro: Nice fan, quiet and moves a lot of air. Still a new installation for us. Con: Sliding wall control is 1980s tech. Reversal switch is on top of fan and not accessible in a tall installation (mine is 14 feet from floor).

Doesn’t seem to matter which direction they are running. Very disappointed in the Roto XL. We have other MinkaAire fans in bedrooms and living areas (not Roto XL) which work wonderfully.

I'm going to keep writing one-star reviews until they appear on the Lamps Plus Website. Two of the four fans I bought for my outdoor porch ceiling lost blades during our windy spring weather. They are not metal, but plastic and break under duress. They are not covered under warranty. Don't buy if you have windy weather.
Perfect looks, but will not perform outdoors.
