Works Only For Pencil Art
While Mondo Llama is usually a good name in regards to affordable arts & crafts products, this particular sketchbook does not live up to that designation. The paper works fairly well for regular pencils, mechanical pencils or drawing pencils, but fails when it comes to markers and basic watercolor paint. For paper that's supposed to support markers, there's considerable bleed through even when a single layer of marker is put down. Used a bit of plain white watercolor paint with minimal water to remove an ink line (ink used for art drawings and can be covered or removed with paint), and the paper buckled significantly. The ink pen used to outline the drawing before applying the marker colors had a tendency to bleed on the paper. IF you need just a basic sketchpad to jot down ideas or do some quick pencil sketches or more finished pencil drawings, this is a good one to buy. However, the claims it works for markers and pens are misleading, and should not be used. I like Mondo Llama products and this is the first one that's been a disappointment.

Perfect Little Drawing Book
This is a really nice quality drawing book for the price. My daughter is on her 3rd. We recently looked at other brands in Target and even at 8 years old she thought this was a much better deal than the others!

Bad design if wire binder that connects cover.
The paper is great. It’s nice and thick, but the wire binder that holds the paper and cover is a very poor design. The cover comes off of the wire holder and you are not able to put it back on based on the design. This ruins the functionality of the pad. Cannot recommend.

I was looking for a budget friendly sketch pad.... and this did not disappoint. The cover is a good hard back a d the paper is a good quality, it is a thicker paper and does not rip when written or drawn on. it is 9×13 so it is a great size. Midweight, quality paper, love the strap to close!
We love these sketchbooks! The design on the front is cute and the rubber band to keep it closed is clutch. The paper is mid weight, regular washable markers won’t go through the page unless you color heavy in the same spot. Sharpie will bleed through to the next page somewhat, which is what I’d expect from mid weight paper. I love the hardcover to protect it and the bigger size is so fun for my kids. I feel like it’s a good book for the price. We have multiple and will keep buying them!
