A tender addition to the #1 New York Times bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas, bridging the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin and upcoming books.
Feyre, Rhysand, and their friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly altered world beyond, recovering from the war that changed everything. But Winter Solstice is finally approaching, and with it, the joy of a hard-earned reprieve. Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, her concern for those dearest to her deepens. They have more wounds than she anticipated--scars that will have a far-reaching impact on the future of their court. Bridging the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin with the later books in the series, A Court of Frost and Starlight explores the far-reaching effects of a devastating war and the fierce love between friends.Review Quotes

For me the entire series is like a 3.5 out of 5 to begin with, but this little pamphlet of a book was just sooo Meh. It just seemed so confusing and unnecessary with the shifted point of view thing. How only half of the characters had first person views. It was just kind of a whole lot of nothing. I read some other reviews saying that these couple of pages are to set up the next book but they could just have been the first pages of the last book. Just overall me.

Thais is a book full of necessary set up for later - just read it and you’ll be so happy that you pushed through. It is not as exciting as the others but is NEEDED. Plus it’s short, so just read it 😉

The 4th book in the ACOTAR series-a nice little break from all the seriousness & a little bridge into the final & longest book in the series (751 pages to go)! I actually really liked this one. We got to read a different POV from more of the 'family' characters & the lasting effects of what war has had on everyone. Winter solstice is upon us & something I've kind of noticed in the books, is that once we hit to about 70% in the books-that's when things really kick into gear. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like l've noticed a progression in her writing as well, as the series has gone on. P.s....the little background story to Feyre's dresses do (yep, tears in my eyes). And then was audibly "Awhh"-ing out loud in the last few chapters. Love it or hate it-all in all, this one was a nice lighthearted break, I thought it was kind of beautiful, & 1 enjoyed it.
Couldn't put it down

2.5★/ 15+/.3 Spice I’m sorry, but what the heck was the point of this book? Besides MAYBE being a break from all the other books that are mad thick. I truly think all of this should’ve been added to ACOWAR, at the end. It would’ve given it so much more depth. However, I absolutely loved being able to read from everyone’s perspective. Like, why in the heck haven’t the other books been written like that? It would’ve made them 1000% times better! We know you can do it SJM… Anyways, very quick & easy read. Not great, but not bad either. Y’all hyped up these books WAY too much.

Marvelous book. Be aware it’s a novella and not nearly as big as the other books in the series.

Cute Holiday Special.

This is a novella that bridges the story from the first three books to the upcoming spin-offs. It doesn't really have a plot, but it's not meant to. It's like a sweet holiday special where we actually get to see what happens to our favorite characters after a war. I love seeing the "everyday" in this story as you don't get to see that alot in a series. It's a bit fanfiction-y at times, but honestly I'm a sucker for that! And leave it to Sarah J Maas to have some realistic character development in a novella! Definitely read this before the first spin off!
