Pump Style Abreva Defective

Do not buy this product in a pump! I have used the cream before, in the tube, and would have this time, too, but my usual stores were only carrying the pump. The cream works well for cold sores, and although it is very expensive, the cream in the tube lasts a very long time because you don't need to use much. I was leary of buying a pump, because pumps often stop working prematurely. While the Abreva pump was working, it dispensed more than needed, then after only a few uses, it stopped pumping altogether! This is very frustrating, especially given how expensive the product is. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy the pump version of this product!

Hater of Cold Sores

Abreva should be ashamed for the price they charge for their product that does not work, IMO… and my experience. Thanks, that’s it

The Worst

I started using the abreva cream at least two days before I got any blisters and I woke up with one of the worst outbreak this has never happened to me before I've.been treating it with abreva cream but my whole bottom lip is full of blisters. It's the worst I've been applying the cream for 4days using it all day.The cream is not working. I can't go outside like this.

Please be careful!!!

I used Abreva a week after I had gotten my cold sores, I don't get them very often, but when I do they stay for weeks. Just make sure you know how your skin will react to the ointment. I used it, but after 2 days, it kept getting worse, making my cold sores so bad that it had contracted in my facial nerve. Which led to the spread of it to one side of my face. Please make sure that your skin will not have a bad reaction to this, like me. I'm not saying it doesn't work because my friend raved about it, which is what led me to use it. There are 2 pictures attached below, one when I got my cold sore, and one where you can see them spreading to my face. I'm only posting this to bring attention to this matter, not to bring harm to the company.

Great!

I love this so much. I put it on the second I started to feel tingling, it has been about 36 hours and they are almost completely gone!! It’s so worth it.

Negligence

I’ve been using Abreva since it became available, and I have noticed a pattern. Luckily now I have an anti-viral prescription from my doctor so I no longer have to deal with Abreva, which DOES NOT WORK after the initial dose. How this company has not been brought to court over its negligence in terms of advertising is mind-boggling. Because here’s the worst bit: if you try to keep a tube of VERY EXPENSIVE Abreva after you’ve used the initial one or two beads of medicine for the *next* time you get a cold sore, using that tube will MAKE YOUR COLDSORE WORSE and MAKE IT SPREAD. The people who make this product have no conscience. I will never buy it again. If you get cold sores, talk to your doctor and get a prescription. This stuff is snake oil.

Not as good as it used to be

Abreva is not the same as the older formula. It doesn’t work as well . The older Abreva used to get rid of cold sores in about 3 or 4 days. This new Abreva is really no better than using nothing at all . I don’t know what they did to change it but they need to go back to the original.

Can’t get product out of tube package

I currently have two tubes of this and the pump does not work in either one, leaving a bunch of product unattainable. I will never buy this in the pump again. We were forced to destroy the tube in order to access the product. I will only buy this in the squeeze tube from now on. Notagood value in this packaging.

Pump failure

I will never buy the pump again! Horrid waste. Insult to the Company to keep manufacturing such a poor dispenser. Makes one thing that they want more waste to assure more profit. Neveragain

Perfect product to keep in my purse, especially in the winter!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is a winner! I don’t get cold sores too often, but when I do I immediately start using this product and it eliminates the sore before it gets painful. Easy to use, throw in my purse, and the price is absolutely worth it!

Abreva rapid reliev

Needed to replace my old tube of Abreva. All they had was Abreva Rapid Relief. I bought it , thinking it was the same Abreva I've been using. It is NOT. It seems to only be pain reliever, that makes your lips and tongue NUMB. Waste of money.

Pump is wasteful

The new pump dispenses too much cream, especially given the cost of the product. It wastes so much! Will go through it in half the time. Please fix this!

Works Really Well!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so happy to see that there was a less expensive brand of this on the market. I almost think this worked better than Abreva and I got 2 tube's for less than the price of 1 tube of Abreva. I am very happy I found this!
