This controller plugs into a USB port, typically on the Nintendo Switch dock. Yes, you can absolutely use it while your Switch is connected to the TV (docked mode)—just plug it into one of the USB ports on the dock and it will work as a wired controller. Great for what it does
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The buttons are super responsive, the D-pad feels tight (in a good way), and the analog sticks have just the right amount of resistance for precision in games like Mario Kart Nexus and Zelda: Echoes of Time. It doesn’t have HD rumble or wireless connectivity, obviously, but the long braided cable is durable and gives you plenty of room to move around. Plus, it’s lightweight, so your hands don’t cramp up during long sessions. Only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the turbo button is easy to press by accident, which messed me up in Smash Ultimate 2.

I love Mario, so I’m obsessed with the look. The cable to connect it to the switch it’s very long, and just easy overall, literally just plug it to the dock and it works. The controller is very light and comfortable. It reminds me of when I used to play Nintendo 64 probably million years ago haha. Love the controller and love Nintendo! I would absolutely recommend it.

This controller is meant for the Switch 2 but it is compatible with the first Switch, which is great. It comes with the connector cable. It’s comfortable in your hand and since it’s wired, does not need to be charged, nor need batteries. The only downside is if you have a really large TV, you might need to be sitting closer to it than normal in order for the cable to reach. Regardless, the buttons feel “light” and easy to press so playing on it was easy.

I love how long the wire is, because it means I can be in bed and use it. I also love that it's compatible with not only The Switch 2 but the 1 as well. That being said, I don't like that the home and various option buttons are at the bottom of the controller, it takes a bit to get used to. It runs smoothly however and I love using this, as well as my son.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Disclaimer: this is written from my son’s perspective as I am not a regular gamer. This is a fairly average switch controller. Well summit people may prefer the ability to recharge the controller, I find it frustrating that it doesn’t also have a regular battery option so that I could switch it out if I wanted to charge mid game. Well, there are a lot of buttons available, they are not positioned in a way that feels natural or easy to use. The controller has features similar to an Xbox controller, but I prefer the Xbox over the switch.
