Book Synopsis

Children's author Peg Davis brings back the lovable Napoleon and Marigold in her book, After the Storm: More adventures of Napoleon and Marigold. Napoleon is a handsome rooster and Marigold is a golden-colored hen who live on Ralph and Myrna Davis' farm near Abernathy, Texas. This time the twosome are on a new adventure after a big storm creates commotion on the farm. Ralph Davis discovers a couple of newcomers in an old milk can that was blown from the barn. Inside are a black rooster named Rufus and a white and black spotted hen named Ruby. But where did they come from and will they stay and make the Davis farm their new home? Davis' second book about the adventures on the Davis farm introduces endearing and colorful characters while focusing on the importance of welcoming new friends and going through the inevitable changes during life's ups and downs. As always, Davis' writing finesse shines as she weaves a tale that children will remember and adore time and time again.

Peg Davis is a full-time writer after retiring from 35 years of teaching health, physical education, and coaching cross-country and track in the Lubbock ISD. Ms. Davis' stories are inspired by her childhood of living on a farm, and she is currently writing her third book in the series of Napoleon and Marigold's adventures. She lives in Lubbock, Texas and enjoys traveling, reading, sewing and writing
