Agri-Fab 3 Lb. Garden Seeder

Bought 45-0640 seeder in the fall of last year, drive belt dry rotted over winter. tried to purchase replacement belt. was almost an impossible task on line, just jumping thru hoops and getting nowhere. had to form an account , then they shut it down. Called the number they gave me, trying to get an explanation as to what was going on and the contact person hung up on me. Still don't have a belt but do know i;ll never purchase another Agrifab product. the website is terrible

I had hopes that this seeder would make planting my large garden simple and easy, boy was I wrong. The assembly and instructions were simple enough. The construction materials seem adequate for the task. I planted a few different seed types. First off was sweet corn. I installed the plate as instructed and did not overfill the hopper. Seed seems to easily wedge between the seed plate and the hopper wall. If too many seeds jam behind the plate, it causes the front wheel to lock up. Some of the remaining seed pops out from behind the plate and launch out of the open top of the hopper. When seed does make it through the plate and down to the soil it rarely is one or two. Most of the time 3 to 4 seed drop making a very uneven planting. I had the same results with beans and lentils. Maybe I am doing something wrong but overall I am disappointed

I’ve always crouched down and done all of my gardening on my hands and knees. In the last few years, I’ve noticed that this particular habit badly aggravates my sciatica and is ultimately causing me to do less and less work in the garden, which is soul crushing for me. Thanks to the AgriFab Garden Seeder, I can now comfortably enjoy one of my favorite outdoor activities without experiencing the debilitating pain afterward. The seeder was very easy to put together. The directions were clear and thorough. Altogether it probably took me 15 or 20 minutes, and that’s with me searching for the correct size wrenches multiple times. Hint: You need a total of four tools (two 10mm AND two 13mm wrenches/sockets). The best part? It comes with seven seed plates! Each plate is conveniently labeled with the seed type and spacing. So you can use this to plant hemp, sweet corn, lettuce, turnips, endives, cabbage, onions, tomatoes, leeks, asparagus, spinach, okra, Swiss chard and other medium seeds, baby beans, and peas, among so many others. I used it for lettuce and tomatoes as well as sweet corn. The corn did get stuck as the hopper emptied out but considering the convenience this seeder offers, I’ll deal with the last two or three stragglers. I love the adjustable row marker as it was easy enough to manage once I figured it out. The hardest part was determining out how much to tighten the hardware. Too tight, and the row marker won’t go where you want it. Too lose and it will flop around too much. Luckily there are plenty of videos online if you’re unsure of the best approach. Only time will tell if this product stands up to frequent outdoor use. I am slightly hesitant that the plastic will crack (although it appears to be very heavy duty) or the drive belt will rot over time. Additionally, the seed plates are plastic and I can see someone like my husband manhandling it too much and potentially snapping the discs as he attempts to remove them. Therefore, he will not be touching this garden seeder! Thankfully, the company offers the ability to purchase replacement parts. Overall, I’m very happy with the AgriFab Garden Seeder and would recommend it to anyone who plants row crops at home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Agri-fab planter to replant some beans that didn't come up. This planter worked really well. Once assembled, just set your desired depth and distance between seeds, add seeds, and off you go. The planter was very accurate with what I set it to for and covered the seeds back up nicely. I did have to assemble it, which the directions were a little confusing but not hard at all. It didn't take much time at all to put it together. I can't wait to use it for all my seeds next year. It will make planting a lot easier and more accurate. I would definitely recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This took me a little longer to assemble as you need to have the right size wrenches. The nuts are tough to turn my hand so you’ll need tools for assembly. The plastic on the wheels and hopper are pretty good quality while the metal frame makes the seeder more sturdy and still light weight to push. Has a nice kick stand to avoid spills when filling or stopping during planting. The hopper has a drain hole at the bottom which makes emptying extra seed easier. I like that it comes with multiple seed plates with descriptions of what type of crop you might use them for. You can set your dept with the blade under the hopper, but again you’ll need a wrench to do that. I wish that was a little easier to adjust but overall, Very handy!

It works decent for creating rows and disbursing the correct amount of seed if you use the correct insert. We used it for planting flowers along our front walkway since our regular garden area was too small.

Dropped the seeds easily and covered seed with dirt so easily. Lines were straight. Highly recommend. Time saver

I’m sure someone who’s more experienced using this and gardening might think it’s easier and faster than me. It’s very easy to assemble. I was amazed how this does multiple different seeds. This does everything for you! The rows, drops the seeds, and covers the seed with dirt. Just make sure your dirt is ready and ready to go! For a beginner it was pretty easy to use and with this you’re able to plant a lot of different kinds of seeds. Inky had a few times when my seeds didn’t come out as easy or got stuck. But for the time I saved using this, I can deal with it. I would definitely recommend using this. It can help you get your gardening seeds done! I’m very happy Influenster gave me the opportunity to try and use the Argu-Fab Garden Seeder!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this free from Influenster and Agri-Fab This seeder does require some assembly and tools. It was a little frustrating putting together, not that it was complex but there were nuts and bolts that were pre assembled that you then had to take off to actually assemble the part with another. One of the bolts was on so tight that I had to use my impact to remove it. Not sure why these pieces weren’t just put in the bag with the other nuts and bolts so you didn’t have to do double the work to put it together. There were two other pieces that were difficult to attach to each other because it was a tight fit and the bolt wasn’t long enough for the wing nut to attach so I had to use one of the other nuts for a different part to get it together. I had to use a hammer on this part to get it together. This was the most ridiculous assembly I’ve ever dealt with. Now for the finished seeder, it comes with different disks for the type of seeds you’re planting. I personally feel this seeder is more hassle than it’s worth and it seems like there are parts missing for the row marker shaft.

It is made well, sturdy and durable. It's very easy to push and it distributes the product pretty evenly and in a nice line. It has made my gardening so much more enjoyable and easy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoyed using this seed soreader, but I will admit that this machine was very difficult to keep moving. The seeds would often get stuck, locking up the wheels. Smaller seeds worked just fine, but when I got into bigger ones (like peas, beans, etc.) they definitely gave me trouble. All that said, I appreciate how much faster I got the garden done this year by using this!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It wasn't hard to assemble and i like how versatile it is for the seeds. I did a test run to see if the seeds would also go through the holes. It didn't do so well when I was pushing it through the ground maybe because my ground was uneven so I had to cover the seeds with the dirt.

It worked great for me to do single rows of each flower I wanted in my garden bed , and we also used it for our beans and pea rows we did this year . Easy to use , works well, just a great product for do it at home gardening.
