Almay Smart Shade Skintone Matching Makeup with SPF 15 - 1 fl oz

Don’t believe negative reviews. I have tried everything, liquid, sheer tints, baked, mineral powder, and I keep reaching for my Almay smart shade light. The coverage is beautiful. It’s hydrating. It stays and stays and stays. It really is the best I’ve used and I am very happy with it. I hope they don’t discontinue it.

I double-checked the almost identical My Best Light foundation I bought earlier this year, and Almay apparently dropped the Anti-Aging version of this same product. Very, very disappointed. This summer, I bought Almay's Smart Shade, Anti-Aging, Skintone Matching foundation w/SPF 15. I used Neutrogena's high SPF suncreen underneath, and this foundation, with the anti-aging feature seemed like it protected my skin better. I have long commutes, plus at times work outside, so, I felt this product with the Anti-Aging was valuable to me as a customer. So, while I love this product, I am very disappointed Almay would drop the anti-aging version. Most *all* of us over 30 appreciate an anti-aging feature! The product blends in well, stays all day, and provides protection from sun's rays.

I owned this a couple years ago and thought it was great. Coverage is decent and there isn't a white cast if blended thoroughly. Re-bought this week and it ended up making my skin dry and scaly. It feels tight, like maybe it's dehydrating, and then the spread doesn't look as seamless as it used to. I ended up feeling like I had irritation on my forehead and around my jaw from this.

Did not make me break out, which is always a plus, and lasts a decent while, but this is really bad for people with cool undertones in their skin. I looked grossly orange in this. If you have warm tones, though, I'd reccomend trying this out

I’ve tried many light weight foundations.i won’t go anywhere without makeup (I’m 57) I’d wear my expensive full coverage all the time because I couldn’t find a light weight inexpensive one that covered and stayed on.well for all you girls that are like me (feel naked with no makeup)this is the best ever!going to the gym,the post office,dropping the kids off whatever you’re doing!keep your expensive makeup for special occasions!💃🏼this goes on so easy and covers my dark spots but is still a light weight daily foundation…also I wear contacts and this is so light I can put it all over my eyes and eyelids and it doesn’t bother them.most foundations bother my eyes I’m very sensitive.love this product!

I loved this product both times I used it. However, it is Not hypoallergenic. And I am fed up with products claiming they are, especially makeup. Within a couple hours my face got red, and swollen. My under eye, eyelids, eye brows and forehead swelled up. And it felt like I had gotten a sunburn. The first time I used it and it happened I attributed to something else. But this second time, there was nothing I ate nor changed in my environment and the same thing happened. My histamine level is thru the roof and I feel slightly anaphylactic. This happens with almost all brands of makeup, on me. But I have used Almay for years, hoping to get a good experience. Nope. And this has been the worst.

I liked the texture of this product, but the color was totally off. I am normally a light shade, but this was too orange. Had to return it.

I tried it a few times but ended up throwing it out. The formula is so thick and sticky compared to similar products I have tried. It looks cakey on my skin and seeps into fine lines. Also not the best color matching.

Don't believe any negative reviews. I'm a big fan and loyal customer. I've been blessed sensitive skin and a skin tone that is not easy to match. I've tried many different brands - everything from high-end to drugstore to dollar store. Smart Shade, Light Medium Mine is my go-to everyday foundation because it provides just enough coverage to improve the look of my skin and it adjusts to match perfectly. I have very dark under eye circles. The light/medium coverage is buildable so I dot on a second pass as a prep for under eye concealer. There's no creasing, cracking and it wears well all day. I've recommended Smart Shade to several friends who have complimented my skin and are as picky about foundations as I am. It's a great product and especially good when packing light for traveling.

I purchased this product hoping that it would be exactly what I wanted. I was so very wrong! This product turned orange reminiscent of the foundations in the 80’s. It was awful. I looked like an oompah loompah. In addition to this, it felt sticky and heavy on my skin.

I have vitiligo and intensely sensitive skin, so I'm always skeptical when I'm trying new cosmetics. I'm very impressed with Smart Shade. It doesn't hide the vitiligo, I don't think anything really does, but it definitely softens the edges of the patches and covers redness well on my not-yet-affected areas of skin. Picture is showing how it looks on my wrist to hand, my whole hand is vitiligo covered, for what it's covering, it's doing a good job. I like that it's not glaringly obvious on the vitiligo patches, just gives them a little boost of color.

This product truly melts into your skin and the color match is perfect. It provides a poreless finish and has a great all day stay. I hope they never stop offering this foundation because it honestly out performs more expensive brands. Love it!!

this product has great coverage and it is good at blending out. It has a glow finish, but I did get the light shade and it still looked really orange on me. 

I’m very fair with yellow tones and it’s really hard to find a foundation of the right shade. This worked perfectly!!!!

I wasn’t sure if this product would work. I have very sensitive skin and usually am only able to use mineral powder foundation. But as I get older, these are too drying and emphasize my larger pores. I read the reviews and decided to give this product a try. To be honest, I really had my doubts as to whether this could match MY skin color accurately…As stated, it starts out white, but after I applied it, it immediately turned into the very best color match of any makeup I’ve ever used in my entire life! And I have been a makeup snob, trying every expensive brand out there in a quest for what this incredible product offers! It wears well, does not get too greasy, does not drag over dryer areas and leaves a lovely finish that’s neither to iridescent, nor too matte! Highly, highly recommended! Almay, please do not change or discontinue this amazing product. I will be a customer for life! Note that I am 57 years old, have a few acne scars and haven’t used sunscreen because my skin is too sensitive for it. This product does not irritate my skin, provides sunscreen protection, without irritation, and also covers my rosacea without looking thick or mask like!

This foundation emphasizes my pores more than any other makeup I've ever used. It looks so bad! Also, I'm not sure exactly what the "skintone matching" thing is about, but it comes out white and then basically becomes invisible when you try to smooth/blend it, leaving white only in your pores. Total waste of money.

I just turned 40 and my old makeup started looking cakey and settling in my wrinkles. This blends and matches perfectly and hydrates! Also has spf 15.

Smooth and pretty matte finish and it lasts all day. I use shade 100 (I'm a strawberry blonde going gray) and while it goes on quite white, it ultimately leaves me with a really nice light porcelain color once I buff it in a bit... looks very natural. I use a foundation brush and apply it with a stipple motion. I haven't found any other brand of foundation that works as well for me and I live in fear that it'll be discontinued someday. I hope not because it's an excellent foundation. Buff it in well and allow it to settle for a short time... you'll end up with a nice color.

This has been my favorite for years! It is so light and goes on my skin like butter. It looks like I am wearing nothing and blends in so well my skin looks more healthier. I suffer from acne all of a sudden in my 30s and this has help blend in the dark marks I am currently working on. The only issue is I have to put on a lot of setting spray to hold it in place. But that’s perfectly fine. It better then using 50 million products to get this simple finish.
