I have not read a lot from this author, but I do know that I will be from this point forward. This is the 2nd book in the series. I have not read the first one, and I did not have any problems following along. The author has created such unique characters, a non stop story line, and you WILL NOT WANT TO PUT IT DOWN. This book is packed full of action. It has so many twists and turns that I was baffled at the end. When Harper loses her camera while witnessing a murder, what will happen? Will the suspect find her and take care of her next.
Special thanks to the publisher and Revell Reads for allowing me to read this book.

Elizabeth Goddard has done it again! The intense action begins on page one and it never lets up!! What starts out as a chance to photograph a black bear in its natural habitat at Jackson Hole, Wyoming, turns into Harper Reynolds witnessing a murder being committed. Suddenly, she herself is the murderer's next target and what follows is a story filled with guns, bombs, and intense danger as Harper and her childhood friend Heath McKade desperately try to discover who the killer is. Nothing seems to go right as they try to stay ahead of this unknown person and there is also the extreme tension that comes from Harper and Heath's personal connection during their struggle to stay alive. Even though there are so many obstacles to overcome, they find themselves reviving a friendship that is twenty years old.
'It was as if an invisible force that spanned time and distance had brought them together again.' (p. 184)
Author Elizabeth Goddard demonstrates once again her ability to increase heart rates and affect emotions and it isn't just from the adventure and danger. It is apparent that Harper and Heath are physically attracted to each other but their past history and the hurts they have both endured seem to be roadblocks to a future together. Their efforts to stay alive and their attempts to forget the past allow Goddard to showcase the importance of faith and prayer in both of their lives.
"God, have you brought me through all of this only to die here and now?" (p. 346)
If you love mystery and adventure and if you enjoy romantic suspense with a faith-filled message, you will want to read Always Look Twice, the second book of the Uncommon Justice series. Elizabeth Goddard proves why she is such a well-loved author!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and publisher but a positive review was not required. These are my own thoughts.

"She had answers to questions she hadn't even asked, and those answers left her gutted. Broken again."
Harper Reynolds has lived her entire life wondering what would have happened if she had forced herself to look into the face of her father's murderer. Regrettably, she'll never know. As an adult, her recompense is peering through the lens of a camera, becoming a crime scene photographer, until the graphic nature of her work prompts her to take a break.
Harper and her sister Emily decide to travel through national parks, giving Harper a golden opportunity to utilize her eye for detail in a different sort of way. . . . until; upon return to the Teton National Forest in Wyoming, the home of her childhood, her camera makes her an eyewitness to a cold-blooded murder and the ensuing investigation leads her back to a cherished childhood friend, Heath McKade.
The pace is frantic, the story line a bit wrinkled in places, the attraction between Harper and Heath struggles to take root, but in the end, fans of romantic suspense will likely concur that "Always Look Twice" is a fascinating read.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. The opinions stated above are entirely my own.

“Harper Reynolds inches forward, hoping she hadn’t made a mistake in coming there.” - Opening line of Always Look Twice by Elizabeth Goddard
Always Look Twice by Elizabeth Goddard is a continuation of the Uncommon Justice series following on from book one, Never Let Go so I sat down to enjoy reconnecting with characters of which I was already fond. Heath McKade is our leading man in this one and he reconnects with his childhood friend, Harper, as she flees the scene of witnessing a murder.
Whilst the sheriff doubts Harper’s story, there is no supporting evidence, Heath comes to her aid and they continue to investigate. The small town is also besieged with mailbox bombs and, between the two cases, the local police force is stretched thin.
Harper has returned to the town with her sister, the last stop on a year long road trip to help her recovery from the trauma she suffered in childhood and on the job as a crime scene photographer. As a character, she is easy to relate to and rout for! Her fear of the murder is palpable.
Heath is equally stalked by past traumas, one of which is in the previous book. It’s not essential to have read it to enjoy this one but it’s equally good so I recommend starting at the beginning.
My favourite aspect of this series is the supporting cast, it’s rich and creates the small town feel which I so enjoy. In doing so, Elizabeth creates a place to which I want to keep returning. Full of suspense and action, I didn’t put it down until I reached the ending. Harper’s murder story is wrapped up but I do hope there is another in the Uncommon Justice series.
If romance suspense novels are your thing, this is one not to be missed! Christianity is a part of both our lead characters and I enjoyed how Elizabeth included Biblical principles in the story, I highly recommend it, five out of five on the enjoyment scale!

Wow, what a story! This one drew me in from the very first page. All I wanted to do was to keep reading until the mystery was solved. The setting in the Jackson Hole area was perfect and played its part in building the suspense in this book. The characters were compelling and I instantly connected with Harper. Even as she was struggling to overcome her anxiety over tragic events in her life, she stayed strong and used her talent to help find a killer. This storyline had plenty of twists in it. At one point, I thought I had the mystery solved, only to have another clue come along to make me realize I was wrong. As Heath and Harper struggle to catch the killer before he kills again, the affection they had for each other in their childhood grows in to something stronger. I also appreciated the thread of faith that was woven into the storyline.
This is an excellent Christian suspense novel and I’m looking forward to (hopefully) reading more about these characters.

This is an incredibly action packed story! And I quite enjoyed it!
In this second installment in the Uncommon Justice Series, we find Harper Reynold's taking beautiful nature photographs when something catches her eye. When she pans over, looking through her scope, she sees a woman running away from someone. Although everything inside of her screams to look away, she can tell by the look on the woman's face she may see/photograph something important. Which turns out to be her murder. While trying to get away and find help, she trips and hits her head, drops her camera and the memory chip. When she calls for help, the one who happens to be there is a childhood friend of hers, Heath McKade. He helps her to safety, protects her, and helps her find who committed this horrible crime.
Harper and Heath's relationship is the one thing I wanted more of in this story. I wish there had been more of their romance and not just the two of them pushing the other away. They both have serious baggage and are afraid of committing to the other person. I was happy with how their story ended, I just wish there had been more!
All in all, this book kept me on my toes and kept me turning pages! I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the third book in this series!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. A positive review was not required. All opinions expressed are my own.

Another Elizabeth Goddard book I could not put down! With her trademark flare for intense and fast-paced action and suspense, the author creates an intriguing tale where the past and the present coalesce when Harper, a crime scene photographer, returns to her hometown and becomes a target herself when she witnesses a murder. Heath, a guest ranch owner and volunteer deputy, is pleasantly surprised to see his childhood best friend return to their hometown but quickly gets embroiled in the trouble that follows Harper. The villain actually has a voice in the plot but the identity is cleverly concealed until the end. This easy-to-read story that combines a well-crafted plot, plenty of action and suspense, deeply layered and relatable characters, and great character development will draw you in from the first page. It’s book 2 in Uncommon Justice series but can definitely be read as a stand alone.
I received a copy of the book from Revell and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
