Q: Is this the most recent update model of the Colorsoft?

  • A: Hi John! This is the newest version of the Colorsoft released, but is not the Signature edition. The Signature edition features wireless charging and an automatically adjusting front light. This version still has an adjustable front light, but will not automatically adjust based on the ambient light. Both versions feature the color screen and will last around 8 weeks on a single charge using the included USB-C cable. I hope that helps, have a great rest of your day!

Returned. Not worth the money

I was so excited I wanted to love this so badly. Got it in store because I didn’t want to wait for it. Set it up. It was the perfect size but it was SO GRAINY and laggy. To the point where it seemed blurry and my eyes hurt. I have the kindle scribe I just wanted something smaller to carry. I returned it within 15 minutes. I am so disappointed :( the color was also very dull. Not worth the money. I ordered the paperwhite

We understand that coming from the Kindle Scribe, you have a great frame of reference for what a premium Kindle experience should look and feel like. The Colorsoft uses a different display technology to enable its color capabilities, which can look and feel different from the crisp e-ink display on the Scribe. A couple of things that may have contributed to what you experienced: Display sharpness — the Colorsoft's resolution is optimized to balance color rendering with clarity. Adjusting the font size and boldness settings can sometimes improve perceived sharpness and reduce eye strain. Color vibrancy — the color layer is designed to be gentle on the eyes for long reading sessions, so it intentionally leans softer rather than vivid like a tablet screen. Responsiveness — e-ink displays refresh differently than LCD screens, and the color layer can add a slight delay. Ensuring your device is running the latest software can help with performance. That said, we completely understand that the experience simply wasn't right for you, and we're glad you were able to return it easily. We think you'll love the Paperwhite — it has that sharp, crisp display in a compact and portable size, which sounds like exactly what you're looking for as a complement to your Scribe. Happy reading!

Picked up on a whim the other day at my local Target. Love it. Only negative is the color obviously takes up more storage and all my ebooks do not fit on the 16GB. I have over 1600 ebooks

I love my new Kindle Colorsoft!!!

I absolutely love my new kindle colorsoft! I have went on and on about it and I finally have it in my hands! This was my birthday present to myself and I am very pleased with it! It came with no issues and I love how the pages look exactly as if you were reading a book, very easy on the eyes! The color is a plus and I also love how you can make the book cover of the book you're currently reading, your screensaver! If you're contemplating getting this, I say go for it! I waited to get it when it was on sale for at least $189.99, my only recommendation is to wait for a sale because the original price is kind of steep but otherwise it's a great product!
