American Tourister Phenom Softside Carry On Spinner Suitcase

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m new to the carryon experience. This bag is functional, roomy and well built. The zippers are well made and there’s room for everything even a career overpacker needs. I may never check a bag again. I live out of this suitcase for a week.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the color & the size. Zippers seem strong & well made. Hard to tell which zipper is the large opening vs the expanding zipper. Falls over if you have heavy things like a laptop in outer pocket.

This is a great-looking suitcase, and the telescoping wheels are nice and smooth. However, if you are looking for a carry-on size, this is NOT the one. I quickly grabbed this because the beautiful color caught my eye, and the manufacturer tag specified 20 inches. Luckily, I checked before heading to the airport. It actually measures 23.5 inches. I had to run around at the last minute looking for a replacement to comply with the airline standard carry-on size of 21.5 inches. Shame on American Tourister for blatantly lying about the size. I feel sorry for anyone who buys this based on the specs printed on ALL THREE of the tags. They will almost definitely incur a checked bag fee once they arrive at the airport.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently replaced an old piece of luggage of approximately the same size with the American Tourister Phenom LTE. I bought this originally because it's a soft-side with all the same features of my old luggage (i.e. zippered pockets in all the same places). However, I've found that the Phenom is about 15% larger -- and that's before I deploy the expansion zipper! I'm 6'4" and 230lbs, so I really appreciate having a piece of luggage that has additional space after I pack in a week's worth of clothes. The Phenom's wheels roll much more smoothly than the old bag, and the selectable-length extension handle is also a nice feature. I travel a lot for work, and I am confident I will have many years' worth of good traveling with this bag.

I bought this American Tourister. I am very happy with its first trip! Light weight and easy to maneuver. And it was inexpensive (compared to my previous one! Thank you!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this size and the 360 wheels! Plenty of room. Definitely too large to carry on the small express jets... you'll need to gate check. Hopefully this holds up! Teal color is beautiful: classy enough for business travel but bright enough to stand out in the luggage carousel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect carry-on bag with exceptional spinning wheels that can roll like a rollerboard also, a strong telescoping handle that doesn’t feel like it’s going to come apart, and a spacious central compartment that holds everything you need. It paid for itself with my first trip by avoiding checked baggage fees - so it’s a great deal too. Downsides: no place to put your identification on exterior of bag, only one real handle for carrying bag and that’s on top of bag with no handles on side or bottom, and only 2 color options (black and a nice blue).

I used it for the first time last week. It carried everything I needed in a compact but fully adequate space. I highly recommend you put this case at the top of your next-travel-case-purchase list!
