Q: Does this rice cooker have a removable inner lid for washing? The only part I see that can be removed on the lid is the steam valve, but this doesn't seem right since the entire inner lid is exposed to food.
A: The inner lid is not removable. We recommend using a gentle cleaning solution (soap, water and vinegar) to clean it off between uses.
submitted byAroma Housewares - 7 years agoBrand expertA: I have had a similar model for almost 20 years. It is easy to clean the inside of the lid with a dishrag and remove any residue from the seal. Definitely don't close it with water in the inner seal.
submitted byKathryn - 2 years agoA: No, the inner lid isn’t removable. I wipe it down after each use and make sure I get the moisture out from under the inner seal. I’ve had mine for well over a year and this has worked fine for removing all the excess moisture.
submitted byRayRay - 7 years agoA: I have had a similar model for almost 20 years, and RayRay and the manufacturer are correct. Just wipe it with a soapy dishrag or some vinegar and make sure the inner seal doesn't stay wet.

Q: Bought at Target Ventura, Ca 3/16/2018. No instructions in box. Box was sealed. Mod # ARC1030SB. Please advise Internet link to see operation and instruction manual. Have misplaced Target reciept so can not give receipt info.

Q: can you fry onions, cook meat, boil water and make rice with it?
A: I have a similar model that is excellent at slowly caramelizing onions on low heat. I can also get some brown on meat before stewing and saute a mirepoix for sauces. But it won't deep fry or stir fry.

Q: There is no option for high or low setting on the slow cooker. Do you use the high or low time in a recipe for the slow cooked?

Q: I have had mine for two months and we use about 2-3 times a week. It still has a very strong new appliance smell, like burnt rubber or plastic. Did this happen to anyone else?
A: Yes, ours also had that chemical stink - we returned it because it didn't go away after trying to use it several times. We've had several Aroma rice cookers in different sizes before this one, and none of them ever had any smell at all.
submitted byHeather - 5 years agoA: Hello, Thank you for contacting Aroma Housewares. Should you still have an odor with your unit. One trouble shoot to try to clean the inner pot as well as lid. You can add two cups of water along with 1 cup of a white or distilled vinegar. Set the unit to steam for 20-25 minutes. Once done wipe down lid with a cloth or paper towel. This will help clean off the lid as well as the silicon gasket. Q: Does it over cook and brown the rice on the bottom of the pot?
A: Cooks perfect as long as you follow directions on the amount of water.

Q: Does it ooze out any liquid out of the cooker while cooking?
A: Hi PilarMastra, It is normal to have steam coming out while cooking. If there is too much water or if the rice is not rinsed, this can cause the steam to have excess starch.
