A: This makes 4 cups of cooked rice (2 cups of uncooked rice). Keep in mind this uses the rice cup standard which is 3/4 cup. If you ever lose your rice cup, just replace it with a standard 3/4 cup.

A: Of course you can cook porridge in this. The description even says it's a rice and grain cooker. I cook porridge (rolled oats) everyday in this and it comes out perfect every time.

The unit will continue to cook until all the liquid is absorbed or has evaporated. We do have other unit that have digital functions where it is possible to cook porridge. When cooking 1 cup or brown rice you use the cup provided add the rice and using the cup to also measure the water add 1 3/4 cups of water. You would need to manually switch the unit to warm once it is to the doneness you are wanting.
