Avene Mineral Face and Body Sunscreen Lotion with Zinc Oxide - SPF 50 - 4.2 fl oz

The Avene face sunscreen is my go-to, so thin and sheer. I thought this product would be similar, but it is goopy, thick, greasy, messy, gets all over clothes, AND migrates so that after a little while every fold (for example, inside the elbow) is highlighted with a bright white line! Cannot express my regret at having bought this product.

They destroyed my face, I had a sprouted and red and irritated, I had to spend a lot of money with a dermatologist for these products

this is my least favorite product. There's small micro particles in cream that gives like sand texture, not pleasing to skin and leaves white cast. I wish it was given in product description. Please do not buy !

It doesnt irritate which is good but theres little white particles in it which get stuck on my face. I dont wear make up but if I did that would be a problem. Formula is kind of tacky too. Not my fave

Great sunscreen I feel protected with it, however the first time I applied it it felt thick and took more than 20 minutes for my skin to absorb it I didn’t like to feel oily but after regulating the amount applied and get used to it I know love it

Very grainy - feels like sandpaper. Torture to rub in. I'm confused about the positive reviews. I must've received a fluke product.

It's easy to apply on the skin, the skin feels hydrated, doesn't irritate and doesn't feel heavy on my face

I love so many Avene products, but this is not one of them. This is one of the thickest, greasiest sunscreens I have ever used so I definitely cant use it on my face and even on your body it doesn't soak in well at all, gets on everything, and takes multiple washes to finally get it completely off.

Works great. Beige is a bit light and on the matte side so you need more moisturizer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first reaction was to assume that this product had been shelved for a long time in anything other than optimum conditions. I had to ask my husband to shake the bottle for 2 to 3 minutes. It was grainy (as if it carried sand), and too oily. The odor is subsequently, lousy as well.

Good sun screen but not a fan of how heavy it is. You have to thoroughly wash your hands after applying so I have to bring towels or wipes to clean my hands off if I use this on the go at the beach for example. Because my hands will be layered with a thick grease. It feels pretty light weight considering how thick/oozy the lotion comes out. Definitely does its job though! I’m just a neat freak. It comes out VERY white on the skin so be sure to rub it all in. So white that it almost gives a purple hue on tanner skin. Also does not smell great at all. Fragrance free but really does not have a sunscreen pleasant scent. I use a different one of my face for this reason.

have tried so many different face sunscreens. this is the BEST. and has pretty much cured my hormonal acne breakouts and scars. seriously. i’m so grateful. please keep making this.

I'm on to my second tube of this mineral sunscreen. I use it on my body only, and it rubs in soft and easy, and dries clear. It also moisturizes my skin and makes it feel and look great. Love it!

Great for body and neck but not for face is too Greasy for the face.

This was an awful sunscreen. It has white cast and was incredibly thick. I ended up having to wash it off. It was sticky and starting to burn.

Quality product, but it's a very heavy formula for the face. Going forward, will probably use it on other parts of the body but use something lighter for the face.

I have very oily acne prone skin so finding a sunscreen that is comfortable and effective at protection is difficult. This sunscreen is horrible. It's extremely greasy to the point where I look like I'm sweating and because it doesn't dry down, my skin is sticky and my hair will stick onto areas like the sides of the face and neck (think of hair getting stuck on goopy lipgloss). Despite being a runny lotion, I find the formula very heavy on the skin to the point where it clogged my pores leading to breakouts and bumps throughout my face. Be careful when applying/reapplying this around your neck as it will leave a white sticky residue on the collar of your shirt although it does come off when washing. No yellow or brown stains were left behind on my clothes though. I have horizontal neck lines and throughout the day product would settle into them so I have to constantly be blending my neck; this also applies to my eyelids making it look like I have two white lines. Reapplication feels like adding a heavy greasy layer on the skin again, something that I did not enjoy doing even though I blotted away excess oils and product before reapplying. On the positive side, this sunscreen despite being a mineral formula, doesn't leave a clownish white cast on my medium skin tone. I use two fingers length of product (one for face, one for neck). Although there is a slight white cast upon application, by rubbing and patting the product in, the cast does disappear but that doesn't mean the greasy finish will go away. It doesn't sting my eyes too whether I'm wearing contacts or my frames. I can't determine how water resistant the sunscreen is but it held up while doing yard work and my acne scars did not darken so the protection is great. You do get more product compared to other mineral sunscreens on the market but for how greasy and heavy the formula is, it's not worth the expensive price.
