Best mineral sunscreen I have ever used. Not think and goes on effortlessly. The blend is amazing too. This is my go to sunscreen for all activities and it’s easy to reapply as needed throughout the day. I highly recommend. I’m olive toned skin and it does not leave me looking white. I love this sunscreen!

The only bad thing I experienced was it is difficult to fully rub in the lotion without it being streaky or still visible. Packaging was great and it did keep me from getting any sunburn.

The previous iteration of this product, the solaire sunscreen, was hands down the best sunscreen I had ever used. It was amazing on my oily, sensitive skin and I recommended it to everyone I knew who had trouble finding a sunscreen their skin could tolerate. I was disappointed when I saw they had changed the formula and were now charging the same price for less product, but I held on to hope that the formula hadn’t been changed. Unfortunately it has, and now it sits heavy and sticky on my face. I should have known once I saw that the brand changed their bottle from 50mL to 40mL without altering the price point that they would take some cost cutting measures for the formula too. I guess the search for the perfect sunscreen will now resume. Such a shame.

I never leave reviews on things but I felt compelled to write one here. I was using the Solaire UV for my acne prone skin. I used it for two years. It was incredible, especially after finding something that works. I tried this new formula and the next day I had cystic acne on my cheek. Listen - this may work for some people. I’m not knocking the product. BUT. If you were using the old formula because you get acne or have sensitive skin, I suggest you check the new formula on an INCI decoder to see if you have an issue or sensitivity with any of the new ingredients, which also tells the comedogenic rating. Again - I’m not saying this is a horrible product. I’m saying that if you have acne, this is probably not the sunscreen for you. So sorry to see the old formula be discontinued…

A little heavy for me only bc I like the aerosol sunscreens bc I feel like they are lightweight, however, it really is a great product that doesn't have that sticky feel like normal lotion sunscreens do. A little goes a long way and trust a girl who has zero tanning capabilities it is great!!! Will definitely have some on the boat this summer as you can not have enough sun protection!!!

I’ve been using the old packaging for the last 2 years. This new one is very oily and the consistency is no longer the best. Please bring back the old packaging, it has been my holy grail and I can’t find it anywhere.

This Avene sunscreen is a winner! It doesn’t sit heavy on the skin and wears well under makeup. It’s very light but also very protective. It does not leave a white cast on your skin. My skin is very sensitive and this sunscreen does not bother my face at all. Great brand!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I stopped using American sunscreens many years ago in favor of Japanese/Korean formulations, as so many American products felt greasy, heavy, and gross. I had a chance to try this sunscreen from Avene and decided to go for it since so much has changed in sunscreen formulation in recent years. Yet this still was greasy, heavy, and gross. Everything I hate about Western sunscreens, with the additional bonus of a heavy white cast. That last bit is noteworthy because I’m pretty fair, just above an NC10, and this washed me out horribly. I couldn’t even bring myself to keep it on for a day because it felt like I had a mask on my face. Major fail, and I will probably just use this up on my arms and legs.

The only issue I've been having is I can feel it on my skin. I'm trying to wear it all day without taking it off to see if it still bothers me, this could just be a me thing. But it's like a dry film. It also smells... not like sunscreen, but clay? If that makes sense. I know it'll protect my face, but again I don't know if I can get over the feeling or the smell. We shall see.

There is no grayish, bluish or white cast after applying! I added pictures of my and my son skin, my skin is fair and his is tan (makeup tones). Second: There is no typical sunscreen scent, it has a scent but more like a thick cream smells. Third: The Ingredients! There is Niacinamide for even skin, Bisabolol & Allontoin to soothe & calm skin, and also Pro-Vitamin E to protect against environmental oxidative stress. Oxidative Stress in Skin plays a significant role in skin aging and disease, leading to visible signs like wrinkles, fine lines, and pigmentation! Overall the Avène Multi-Defense Fluid SPF 50+ for sensitive face skin, is a sunscreen that I would definitely get again and also let my son use it! My son’s skin is hypersensitive and he gets allergic reactions to a lot of different products, he didn’t got a skin reaction with this fluid.
