Q: Was the formula changed? The tube I received was chunky, blue, and separated. It wouldn’t mix. I returned and was sent a new tube- this tube was also the same. I won’t be purchasing again. A waste of money for what used to be an amazing product.

  • A: It separates when it is too cold, if I get this shipped during the winter it does this. It actually says on the product do not expose the product to temperatures below 5°C or 41°F . So in colder months I just buy it at the store and it has been fine for me.

  • A: Separation is extremely common. I does not mean it's bad. Just let it sit in a cup of hot water for a few minutes before massaging it to remix. Once remixed, it will stay that way.

Q: When opened for the first time, is it normal for there to be liquid separated from the cream? The one I received had about a teaspoon of liquid coming out of the tube before the actual cream.

    Mineral oil cream

    This is a hard no for me. I ordered based on derm’s recommendation to help with restoring the skin barrier during the early stages of trentinoin usage. Good thing I read the ingredients before I put it on my skin. Contains mineral oil(cancer causing) and other types of heavy comedogenic oils. You’d think with the ridiculous price tag you’d be getting a high quality ingredient product. But no such luck

    Spring Water continues to leak out

    I just opened a new package of the Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream and large amount of blue water kept draining out. I am able to get the cream out but the blue water continues to flow after 5-6 uses. Not sure if I am getting the full benefit of this product if the spring water that is a key ingredient is just draining out and not mixing with the cream. After reading the reviews it appears that there are others that have encountered this same issue.

    A bottle of Magic

    My skin barrier broke. My face was burning, red, and really dry. I was recommended to give this a try, and it did wonders for me. My skin is slowly healing, and this product made a difference. My skin type is acne prone and I am sensitive to most skin products. Trying this out was scary at first, however my skin accepted it easily.

    Follow-up on My Product Complaint

I was informed that I would receive a response within 2–3 business days, but I have still not received any update.     A Cream That Actually Works

    After menopause, my dry skin broke out with several ultra dry patches. I tried everything. While things temporarily moisturized, nothing helped the dry patches go away. Until now. I use this twice a day and by the end of the second week I noticed the patches feeling like normal skin. This stuff really works!

    Not for texture

    I find that the occlusives, primarily the vegetable oil, clog my pores, congest my skin, and create or amplify any bumps on my face. Aquaphor or Vaseline would probably work better for my skin and are much more cost effective.

    COMPROMISED SKIN LOOKS/FEELS BETTER AFTER 1 USE

    Giving credit where due. Avène's Cicalfate+ is AMAZING. I highly recommend it if you've had actinic keratosis treatment (especially cyrotherapy followed by 2 rounds of fluorouracil). My under eye skin was already bad, but the staggered therapies left my treated area red, dry, and peeling months later. After only a day and a half of use, I've noticed a positive difference with this product. It is supposed to help restore the skin barrier, and I already love it. In this day and age, it's really rare to find a product that actually does what it claims do do. Merci mille fois, Avène !

    Great Cream, tips to reincorporate separation

    For all those saying it separated, it can do this if it was exposed to a cooler temperature. I warmed mine up in a cup of hot water and after shaking several times, the water was reincorporated and it works just fine. They also address this on their website. Hope this helps!

    Bought two tubes, one was fine.. the other was a mix of blue water and hard lotion. Not usable.
