Description
Play a ruff riff and rock out with the Woofer hound dog guitar! This electrifying instrument lets your toddler channel their inner Van Halen and experiment with a variety of funky features. Pick your musical mood from 3 different play modes: acoustic, electric, or hound dog. Compose your own song using a full C to C scale of 8 chords that smoothly fade in and out. Push the Music Note button to choose between 20 familiar songs, and then take the Strum button for a spin to play along. Every strum of the strings advances a song by 2 seconds, so keep strumming to keep the song going! You can also press the Doggy button for 9 Peppy Puppy songs. And if you feel like singing, go ahead and grab the lyric booklet! Make any song your own with additional sound effects, courtesy of the Whammy Bone button. Parents will also be happy to know that this dog guitar includes a trusty volume knob. End your rock concert by pressing Woofer’s nose, or he will automatically walk off the stage after 2 minutes of inactivity - now that’s a good doggy!

Q: Is the volume unusually very soft and hard to hear? We've tried turning it up all the way and changing the batteries but it makes no difference. Just trying to figure out if this is normal! Thanks.

A: Ours is not soft! I would exchange it. This has been a favorite in our house for many years!

Q: My son got one of these as a present, and it doesn't work :( is there anything you can do to help w/this? We changed batteries..etc...hes so disappointed..hes only 1.. i will have to go and buy him a new one.

A: Hi Chris. The B. Woofer is recommended for children aged 2 years plus. It's woof'n good songs are fun for the whole family. The guitar strap is attached on both ends by velcro and made to be taken off on the players (or parents) preference. Here's hoping that you have a strummingly good time. The Battat Team

Q: We purchased this a couple of weeks ago. The sound of the prerecorded songs can only be described as "fuzzy" - it's hard to understand the lyrics and the quality of the sound is very poor. Is this normal?

A: Hi Maryanne. No, while the dog feature is a fun part to the Woofer, there are also 2 other setting, acoustic or electric, to change it to for normal guitar sounds. This way you can play during the day and bark the night away!. The Battat Team

Q: I purchased this and now it has a sticky film on the outside which I cant seem to get off with a wipe or soap and water. It is attracting dirt. Is there anything you can recommend to clean it with?

A: Hi Jen, you can expect to hear Woofer's very unique rendition of Elvis Presley's hit song "Hound Dog" (we had to, of course)... CAREFUL OF STRAP!!! The guitar itself is a big hit, the kids love it, but the guitar strap twisted around my son’s neck. The strap twisted so quickly and tightly he couldn’t breathe and it had to be removed by an adult. Luckily he wasn’t playing unsupervised, but that was by chance. At 4.5 he’s old enough to entertain himself in an adjacent room. The strap can simply be removed with the velcro attachment and I’d recommend doing so to avoid a similar incident. I saw another review that described the same scenario.

This is a fun guitar and my kids love it, but please don't let it be a toy that they can play without supervision. My son was playing with it once and ran over to me because the strap twisted tight around his neck! He was panicked and I don't even want to think about what would have happened if I didn't see him quickly. I thought it was a one off, but now the same thing just happened to my daughter, prompting me to write this review. I took the strap off (which you can velcro off, thankfully). But I just wanted other Mamas to be aware

The first one I bought didn't work at all. I tried new batteries but it never made any noise. Target was great and sent me a new one. The 2nd one finally played music but only 2 of the 8 cord buttons worked. The sound wasn't great either. I love the idea of it but I don't want a brand new toy that only half works.

I bought one of these for my nephew 4 years ago. He was 2 and loved it. I was looking for a gift this year for my 16 month old granddaughter so I followed up with my SIL. She said her son played with it for a couple of years and then their next son, who is almost 3 now, loves it too! So this toy is definitely durable! I bought one for my granddaughter for Christmas and so far it’s by far her favorite gift. She loves to push the buttons and strum the strings. She smiles and giggles as the songs play. Definitely recommend.

My 4yo really wanted a guitar. I thought this would have a lot more of a strumming feature, but the noises from the buttons drowned out the strumming, what little there was. The strings don't react quickly to the movements (it's like delayed), and there aren't options to change the tune sound or anything. It was more of a flashy buttons toy for a 2yo than something interactive and skill building for my preschooler. We had to return. I think age range on this should be 2-3, definitely not older than that.

It has the making of a really cute toy but after so many months the toy started skipping and won’t stop unless you turn it all the way off. When you turn it back on it works temporarily and then after so long of playing the music skips a static sound over and over. I just hate I can’t return it. Had the same trouble with the cat piano by this brand. Quality in the design but the products don’t last.

My daughter loves this toy, unfortunately as she was dancing with it and twirling the strap became twisted around her neck. Thankfully we were right there to get it off but it was tight and left a red mark. Please be mindful and watch your kids with this toy. We cut the strap off for her to play now
