Breaks after a few days. Do not purchase.
Do not purchase. My child is OBSESSED, will push the button over and over again until I hide it. Great right? NO! Toy breaks after a few days. We’ve purchased 3 and had one given as a gift, all 4 have broken after a couple days.

Christmas Disappointment
We bought this WAY in advance as a Christmas gift, and God were we ever disappointed. I'm not sure how to explain how bad this toy is, really, but suffice to say, when there's a song playing, it drowns the singer out. And in order for the microphone to even register that you're talking, you basically have to hold your mouth right to it, or cup your hands around your mouth and the mic together. When you do, you sound like you're using an old-school kazoo. This thing is absolutely not worth a penny let alone what it costs. I'm exceptionally frustrated, it seems as if every Ms. Rachel toy we've bought has been a massive disappointment.

My 14 months old introduction to a microphone
From what I've seen, my 14 month old loves speaking into the Ms. Rachel microphone! He mimics words which to me sounds like giberish, but he has fun. He doesn't care too much for the pre recorded music and makes up his own. He usually presses it close to his mouth to speak into. There are two buttons to cycle between freestyle microphone or music to sing along to. In order to start or stop the music you have to push the buttons once or twice. There is no volume control or on/off switch. I purchased a second microphone because the first one quit working due to my child throwing it around the house, it is plastic and not unbreakable. I don't expect too much for the price.
