A: These jars are storage jars and not designed for sous vide water bath cooking. You should consider regular ball canning jars for your purposes.

Q: This question is for those who use these jars for spices... I'd like to put spices in these but can measuring spoons fit through the neck? Specifically the 1 teaspoon size. Some of my jars at home can, some can't, and it drives me a little nuts.

Q: Are the jars smooth on one sideto adhere labels?

A: Yes, 1 side of the jar is smooth so you can place a label their if you like. The size of the space is about 1.75 inches -width × 2.25 inches- height. FYI the width of 1.75 does have a slight curve to the side because of the jars shape. These jars are so stinking cute. So many uses for them from wedding favors to sewing supplies the list goes on and on. I love, love, love these little jars. Wish they sold them in bulk amounts so the price was a little less, but at about 1.15 each in the 4 pack it doesn't break the bank. Hope this helps

A: not sure of the dimension of the jars, i do own some, but i think a baby bottle nipple might be over sized for these jars. however im sure ball has jars that could fit pretty close to what you are looking for.

If you’re going to have an herb garden this year, get some of these jars. You DO need to dry the herbs thoroughly first. Once you do so, they will keep just fine and fit nicely with your other herbs & spices.
