Banana Boat Kids Sport Sunscreen Lotion - SPF 50+ - 6 fl oz

The sunscreen is wonderful! Thick and I don't even need to reapply we've been using this for several years and it's the only suncreen I trust, but this vacation season they seem to have changed the packing. The new container is horrific. It broke the day we opened it and we had to put it in a ziplock bag for the remainder of the 10 day vacation - it was a giant mess, leaking all over the place, full of sand, my kids were really not happy. Would loved to this go back to the old design in the squeezy tube for this to be a 5 star.

I have acne prone skin and have not had any break outs. It is a thinner product that blends out easily. I also have sensitive skin and have not had any skin or eye irratation. I would highly recommend.

Have very sensitive eyes & break out easily from sunscreen. This is sunscreen isn’t perfect but it doesn’t hurt my eyes or irritate my skin. Doesn’t have a crazy white cast when rubbed well. Not my daily beauty sunscreen but if I’m going to the pool or beach or will be sweating a lot, this is the one I use total body on my whole family.

We bought this today, i applied to me and my kids 15 before we got to the beach. Reapplied as directed 2x in the four hours. Kids and i are so badly burned. I burned every inch that wasnt covered will never buy again. Picture doesnt due the burn justice.

I am pulling out sunblock for the summer and can’t find an expiration on this bottle. Sunblock is not cheap so I hate to throw it away. but I am a fair skin redhead of Irish dissent and my son has my burnable skin. Is there a way to determine expiration date from the bottle?

First let me say the expiration date is clearly on the crimp of the tube: EXP 03/2022. I live at higher elevation 4100 feet+ above sea level. Our fair city, Klamath Falls, is designated 'Oregon's City of Sunshine' because we do get lots of sunny days. This product prevents sunburn and it does not sting my eyes. I don't detect an odor. My husband plays golf, and he also uses this product.

Do not use Banana Boat products. They cause severe chemical burns and allergic reactions. My 11-year old daughter used Banana Boat Kids Sports Lotion on her face. The following day the locations where she applied this lotion became very red, swollen and painful. She was immediately seen by a doctor who put her on Benadryl and Prednisone steroids. Her condition continued to worsen and two days later she was admitted to the Hospital Emergency Room. There she received heavy doses of IV Prednisone and IV Benedryl. The doctors diagnosed the reaction as “allergic contact dermatitis from chemical”. The reaction lasted several weeks and she was unable to go in the sun at all during that time, thus spending July inside. It was also extremely painful and she would cry in pain daily. This experience was incredibly sad and scary and we worried she would have permanent scarring. No child should experience this type of pain and suffering especially from using a product that is supposed to help them. Sadly, this is not an isolated incident, with other parents reporting similar reactions to Banana Boat products. Edgewell Consumer Affairs, the owner of the Banana Boat brand, takes no responsibility for the pain and suffering caused by its products. So, buyer beware and DO NOT BUY Banana Boat products!

We used this all summer and it really did a number on us and many things. PowerStay technology sounds great until you ruin your cars interior, exterior, porch furniture etc. Since it sticks so well on your kids skin, they have it on all day. Then you get in the car and it rubs off on everything and then it’s stuck on that too! Would never buy this again!! On top of that I used all summer on me and am wondering if it’s behind sudden loss of feeling in the skin of my arms and legs. ??? Don’t buy this!!! Have used Other brands for many years with no such problems.

This sunscreen has no expiration date on the tube - there is a code of numbers, but it's not clear what they mean, and I don't think that's acceptable. I bought this with an online grocery order, so had no way of knowing. Also, I don't think it's acceptable is that there is no safety seal - the tube I got had clearly been opened, with sunscreen squeezed out into the flip cap and the outside of the tube, and since it's impossible to tell if this was an accident or from someone trying the sunscreen in the store, I will have to throw it out.

I plastered this on my grand daughter and then reapplied and she still got very burned. No way this is a "50". I'm very disappointed.

This banana boat sports lotion DOES NOT. It is a thicker location but very easy to apply. Long lasting and doesn’t leave the child slimy after taking a dip. Definitely recommending!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s really hard to find a sunscreen that will not sting when it gets in the eye and we are so glad for banana boat kid’s sport sting free sunscreen. It applies very easily and the coverage and stay power is amazing! My son used to get sunburn a lot when he swims in the pool but now he don’t. This helps his skin from the sun’s UV rays. This is perfect! It’s SPF 50 and it lasts 80 minutes! I highly recommend this gentle sunscreen. It’s not only great for kids, it’s also great for adults too who are sensitive around the face or eye area.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good product however it still has the oily and sticky after effect like most sunscreens. If you are hoping for a lotion/moisturizer type feel it doesn’t quite achieve it. Therefore reapplication lends to more oily effect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was happy to be able to try this Banana Boat Kids Sport product on my child! The SPF 50 is the perfect amount in this product, when applied frequently (and I probably applied more often than necessary), kept the sun off of my daughter’s skin completely. I once read that anything under SPF 50 wasn't enough coverage and anything over it was overkill. I am glad to report that she is as pale now as when I first started using this sunblock product on her religiously when I received it about a month ago. It is easy to spread on, but it doesn’t absorb as quickly as others, so I recommend applying it well before exposing your child to the sun and especially to water! I am going to begin using this product in place of the other baby sincere product I used because I believe that it held on longer, especially after water exposure, so it requires less-rigorous application, something that I’d unfortunately gotten used to with her other sunblock.

I always make sure my kids have sunscreen on before they go outside when they go in the water it keeps in the skin so there not all greasy feeling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are already fans of Banana Boat sunscreen in our house and this one is no exception. As the kids get older, we need something that will last through all their outdoor play and activities. It goes on pretty easy and we don't hear complaints from the kids about it burning or getting in their eyes when they sweat.

I applied this sunscreen heavily to my kids and myself and in an hour and a half of being outside, we were all burned... our skin is still red two days later. The product has not expired.. I will go back to Blue Lizard sunscreen. We used Blue Lizard at Disney World for a week out in the parks last year and none of us even ended up pink.

This Banana Boat Kids Sport Lotion is terrific for a number of reasons. It’s non-greasy, so we’re not ruining clothes and towels. It’s tear-free, so I don’t have to worry about the kid’s sweating and the lotion getting in their eyes. It lasts a long time, even playing in water. And there’s no smell, which I’m sensitive to.

They had the same pale skin when they returned! The sunscreen is easy to apply and lasted through sweat and heat. No one complained about it stinging their eyes. We will definitely use this again!
