So sorry to hear that! Undercooked cake batter normally happens if the oven wasn't preheated, if the oven was set to the wrong temperature or if too many liquids were used in the batter. Some ovens don't quite get to the temperature they're set to. We recommend using an oven thermometer for the most accurate reading.

I needed a low stress baking situation to do with my six year old. I have loved this cake in the past so I picked it for an event. It was delicious and even hardened dessert-avoiders ate it. I made way too much and still had enough people take it home for later that there was none left. You must use Rainbow Chip frosting as well!

This was the worst box cake that I have ever baked. It is NOT MOIST but dry and crumbly. You cut into the cake with your fork and the pieces fall off the side of the fork. It has the texture of a homemade cake but becomes all crumbs. I will not purchase any of your box cakes in the future.

I washed and sanitized my cake pan, mixing bowl, etc; bought a new box of the mix and used new oil and eggs, and the cake turned out smelling disgusting again. I even checked to make sure the boxes weren't past date even though I had just purchased both boxes from the store within a week of each other. I couldn't smell it without gagging. I'm so disappointed because I have always loved Betty crocker cake mixes

I altered the recipe by using 2 eggs only, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup water, cut the oil to 1/3 cup and added 1/4 cup my grain flour ( that I make using a mix of buckwheat, barley , and oat flours) and then spooned mix into paper cups for muffins and baked in my Toaster oven for 20 min. fantastic !!
