It's supposed to lock into place when you put the lid on at the top, but there is no lock for it. Therefore, you can't use the handle to pick it up, instructions are ridiculous.Most of it was in foreign language and only a small section of english??? item is way overpriced, just because of its feature that it supposed too shut off when it's overheated, it never does.

Very Impressed
My previous shredder was always jamming and more work than it was worth. This shredder has been great. I generally have a steady stream of papers averaging about 8 sheets per cluster and run it 30 minutes straight. It is almost quicker to not shred alot more at once but it can handle it. I do remove the staples. Quick and easy. I do open it when I can see shredded paper through the window and press it down to allow more room.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don’t think anyone would’ve ever thought that a paper shredder could be the perfect gift for a art major. If you’d like to do papier-mâché, or like to make piñata‘s or other types of structural items that require the use of paper to create a skeleton for your item, this machine is perfect. The machine has a sensor that detect when it is too hot otherwise you can put newspapers magazines, regular paper, thick paper, even CDs through into create a lot of shreds that you can then turn into papier-mâché for art projects.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the perfect sized paper shredder for any home. You can insert up to 12 sheets at a time which helps you save a lot of time. It does turn off on its own if it’s overheating and there is a light there that let you know that that is the case and you just have to let it rest a little before continuing there is a little window so you can see when the basket is full and it needs to be emptied before continuing I use mine to shred bills and other documents that have private information on them and only empty it out the day the recycling is scheduled and it’s worked out perfectly. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m writing this review in comparison to my previous shredder, which was only a 6-page shredder with a smaller capacity. The things that I love about this new shredder are that it can handle up to 12 sheets at a time, it has a window pane in the front so you can easily see how full it is. There is a handle on top that makes it easy to lift off to empty the bin (the top part is heavy!). I also liked that this came in the color white which matches my furniture. I have been so impressed at how easily it shreds thick envelopes with multiple papers inside (such as bills, statements, etc). The capacity of 12 pages is perfect for simply shredding projects. I also like that it can shred credit cards which I have already tried and it worked great! This shredder has made such a difference in clearing out my piles of papers that I didn't want to just throw in the trash. I received an incentive to write this review.

It handles a few sheets at a time well. The unit is attractive in the bright white color and fits in easily in my kitchen where I handle all my mail. Very convenient and I’m happy with the purchase. Very Effective and a Must Have to Protect Privacy

The motor is quite heavy, but the rest of the item is made out of a very simple plastic, which makes it really easy to pick up and throw away the shreds. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow! I was not expecting to be impressed by a paper shredder. We’ve had the same one for years and this one is so much quicker and easier to use! It really can shred 12 pieces of paper! I also found the auto feature to be really accurate. It only turned on when I began to push a piece of paper into the slot. The shredded pieces were also so fine that I feel really good about shredding more sensitive documents using this. Would absolutely recommend this! I received an incentive to write this review.

A powerful, convenient shredder for everyday use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Bonsai shredder understood the assignment and did it well. It comes securely packed in the box, ready to use after simply placing the shredder piece on top of the basket. It's a cross shredder with 12 sheet capacity, with a 5.55 gallon basket for the waste, and over heat protection on the motor. There's a convenient handle on top to make lifting the top unit easier when emptying. It has forward, reverse, and auto settings. The papers slid in with ease and shredded without issue. I shredded probably 50 pieces of paper total, and the basket is only 1/4 full. This will come in handy for my home office use. I received an incentive to write this review.

I find that it’s so important to be able to have a tool like this to shred your personal information in the age where everyone is seemingly ready to take your information. Cross cut feature not working after 4 months of us
Would not recommend. The crosscut feature stopped working after 4 months and Bonsai support said they do not honor the 1 year warranty unless purchased directly from them. So not only is the listing inaccurate regarding the warranty, the quality is not great. Buy a Fellowes shredder instead.

This shredder can be fed up to 12 sheets at a time, has a larger fill capacity, and a clear window that shows when the fill line has been reached. Another thoughtful design is the collapsible handle on the top which makes it easier to lift the top off and empty the bin. The shredder has been working well for me so far, no complaints.
