    Cup/carafe knob faulty after just one week

    Cup/carafe knob faulty after just one week. It is set at 2 oz/11 cups at factory default but would only increase in number no matter which way you turned the knob. Once at the max number for cup or carafe volume, the only way you could get back down to a lower volume you had to perform a factory reset (that means we can never make a 4 cup carafe for example, only 11 or 12 cup). My husband has made multiple calls last week to Breville and has gotten the run around (“I only deal with a different model and someone will call you back”). Even after many calls we have had no answers or proper follow up. He loves the built in grinder, and rarely make carafes of coffee since I do not partake, but he will now have to do a factory reset twice a week when he switches from a cup at home and a travel mug when he works in the office 2 days a week. This means using any feature using the clock for example would be a pain since he is factory resetting so often. When we looked online this was one of the highest rated coffeemaker with a built in grinder but upon further research this volume knob problem has been an issue I’ve seen on individual reviews that are SEVERAL YEARS OLD. Breville just doesn’t seem to care. I will never buy another of their products after spending $350 for this annoying experience.

    I bought this machine about 2 years ago. It is a very high maintenance machine where cleaning and descaling is technically cumbersome and time consuming. It requires one to work hard for a good cup of coffee. The electronic of my machine is now malfunctioning. Even to have Breville service it is a complicated process where you don’t know how much the charge will be once they diagnose the problem. I do not want to invest any more time, energy and money into this product. I am throwing this machine away.

    I’ve had the Breville Grind Control for 6 months now, and I can confidently say it’s delivered flawless coffee every single time. We brew an average of 8 cups a day, every day, and it hasn’t missed a beat. Maintenance has been effortless: I rinse it out, change the filters as needed, and wipe down the grinder extractor once a week. That’s it—and the machine continues to perform like the day I unboxed it.     We bought this unit to simply our life. That was a massive mistake, it is a full time job keeping it working. We had it from 2021 to now, and finally just replaced with it the Breville Smart Grinder and Precision Brewer. It takes up way more space but we are far happier

    I've had this coffee maker for 3 years now. I genuinely gave it the time and effort to have it perform optimally to produce the freshest cup of coffee. I gotta say I'm quite disappointed. The most disappointing performance is in the single serve mode where you can choose the exact fluid ounces you'd like. No matter what you do or how many times you calibrate it ,it will generate a watered down cup of coffee. I've even tried changing the beans to see if that may be the cause. Unfortunately I could never figure it out. In the end, this has all the bells and whistles anyone could ask for, but can't produce a quality cup of coffee. I will part ways with it sometime in the next month.

    Everything that everyone talks about in the reviews is true. Coffee grinder just stopped working this morning. Did everything to troubleshoot. Would do the automatic start and would come downstairs start to pour my coffee and it looks like tea. I've cleaned out the coffee machine more than I would like to. We received this as a wedding present. Haven't even used it 8 months and all of the problems are true. Such a disappointment as now I have to buy a new coffee maker.

    This is such a disappointment! We have cleaned this machine so many times, dumped out full pots because they are full of grounds (no matter what filter we use). So much work! Now it has code 001 it’s just a coffee machine I just need it to make coffee, nothing more. I give up. Buying something else

    Daily and weekly maintenance or it will not work. The coffee is good, quality product, but you have to do intense cleaning once a week to keep grinder working (it jams bad). Unforgiving machine, do the maintenance or suffer.

    I have owned this machine for a few years and it makes great coffee. I would give this 5 stars but the grind size knob does not adjust from anything but a level 3, which is annoying. Also, the carafe is impossible to pour from without turning it fully upside down and my lid broke from washing it in the sink! I wish replacement parts were cheaper or if someone at Breville could help me out with these issues.

    I've had this for 3 days and the first day was fine. Now the filter overflows and no coffee comes out and I clean it THOROUGHLY after every use. Then the WORST part, after it is done brewing and I manually let the coffee into my cup since it wont work, the door SWINGS open and grinds and water fly everywhere and I have to clean up the counter. Does anyone know how to stop it from auto opening the filter basket after EVERY brew so this mess is prevented?

    We have been through many coffee machines, switched to grinder/brewer many years ago. This is by far the best machine we've ever had, should it ever fail, we'll get another one just like it (we brew every single day). Just keep it clean, it'll do the rest. This is of course a home model, if you wish a super-professional machine, you will have to dish out several thousand dollars and the end product will not be much different if at all.

The carafe keeps the coffee hot, the grinder does a great job dosing out the correct amount of coffee grinds in ratio to the amount of water you put in - I can go on about how great this drip coffee machine is! Like any coffee machine, you have to be diligent about descaling it and I’ve literally had no issues! Highly recommend!!

    We purchased a Breville coffee machine expecting a premium experience, but after repeated frustrations, we feel compelled to share our disappointment. Given the significant cost, we expected a well-designed, high-performing machine, but instead, we’ve encountered multiple design flaws and brewing issues that make it more of a burden than a benefit. 1. Serious Functional Issues – The coffee basket door spontaneously opens mid-brew, which creates a huge mess. The retailer has refused us a refund. Additionally, the machine consistently overflows when we use the recommended amount of coffee, leaving the interior caked with grounds. No matter how we adjust grind size, ground amount, or coffee brand, the brew is weak. 2. Poor Carafe Design – The carafe is bulky and awkward to use. The handle is too close to the body, making it difficult to hold properly. The top opening is too small, making it impossible to scrub without a separate tool. Worse, you have to turn the carafe completely upside down to pour out the last of the water or coffee, which always results in spills. Further, the grounds that make it into the carafe end up getting trapped inside because of the enclosed ring-top. 3. Lack of Customization – Unlike other machines, you can’t adjust the brew strength when using pre-ground coffee, limiting its functionality compared to other models. 4. Bulky and Overpriced – The machine takes up an excessive amount of counter space and, while sleek in photos, is clunky and oversized in reality. Given all these issues, it simply does not justify its high price. At this price point, we expected a reliable, thoughtfully designed coffee maker that delivers quality coffee without daily frustration. Instead, we’re left with an overpriced, underperforming machine that creates messes, weak coffee, and constant headaches. We are requesting a refund but both Breville and the retailer have declined. We are so angry with how it performs we're actually going to eat the $$ and buy another brand. Yes, it's THAT bad. We hope Breville will stand behind its products and customer satisfaction by addressing this issue.

    I dont understand why Breville cannt fix issues with this machine? I got this one in september 2024, and regret buying it. I make 350ml coffee per day and deep clean it once a week and still have issues. Without giving error message, spring out door would just open in the middle of brew and spill coffee all over, this happens once a week or every other week. carafe is useless as its very hard to pourcoffee from and even harder to clean. So so disappointing!
