submitted by bebe - 3 months ago
A: The Cuisinart Grind and Brew Single Serve Coffee Maker (DGB-30) cannot make espresso. It is designed as a single-serve drip coffee maker. Q: Do you need to empty and rinse the filter after every cup?
submitted by Alex - 3 months ago
A: Yes, you must empty and rinse the reusable gold-tone filter (and the HomeBarista filter cup) after every single cup you brew. Because the machine grinds fresh beans directly for the amount you select, the grounds will become wet and fully saturated during the brewing process. Leaving used grounds in the filter will:

Q: If i don't use a paper filter... what do i expect,,, coffee grinds in my coffee, addition mess later
submitted by Rodmastar - 3 months ago
A: The Cuisinart DGB-30 uses a burr grinder to drop fresh grinds directly into the filter basket. Without a paper filter, you must rely solely on the reusable gold-tone mesh filter. This mesh will allow the finest coffee particles (known as "fines") to pass through and settle at the bottom of your mug.

Q: How many ounces in the 7 "cups" maximum. Legal cup is 8 ounces. But coffee "cups" are often 6 ounces.
submitted by henrye3 - 4 months ago
A: The Cuisinart DGB-30 Single Serve Coffee Maker features a completely customizable cup volume that ranges from 8 to 24 ounces per brew, rather than using traditional fixed-size "cups". Because you control the exact volume digitally, the 7 "cups" maximum on this specific machine equates to 56 fluid ounces (based on standard legal 8-ounce cups).

Steamy
I love the idea of this coffeemaker. The reality is that it makes more steam than coffee. It has done this since the beginning I fear there's a crack somewhere I can't see that is leaking hot water/making steam escape around the basket area.

Coffee is great but terrible design. Why does Cuisinart continue to shy away from simple designs? Ground coffee accumulates on top of filter lid - which ends up on counter when opened. Drip continues after cycle has ended. Single button selection so if multiple people are using w varied settings I expect this to become problematic.

We're glad to hear you're enjoying the coffee quality from your Cuisinart Grind & Brew Single Serve Coffee Maker. To help minimize excess grounds, we recommend ensuring the filter lid and brew area are cleaned regularly and allowing the brewing cycle to fully complete before opening the unit, which may also help reduce post-brew dripping. If you'd like assistance with the settings or maintenance recommendations, please contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190. We appreciate your feedback regarding the design and user interface, and your comments will be shared with our product team for review. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Does what it is expected to do
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this coffee brewer because it was made by Cuisinart and the selection for similar machines is sketchy at best. Pods are garbage. This machine grinds and brews a fresh cup of coffee when you only want one. It’s excellent.

Very convenient coffee maker
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine grinds and brews great, but seems to sweat as it brews and not as fast to finish brewing as the identical model I first purchased in Arizona. All in all, I like its convenience (one machine that grinds and brews great coffee.)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like it! Single cup grind whole bean and brew is better than Keurig. Good overall, what I don't like is the plastic filter holder can easily break and Cuisinart does not off that part for sale on their website.

Doesn’t work
Brand new out of the box and it won’t make coffee. No water will go through the machine. It won’t even run a cleaning cycle. It grinds and then after a few moments just beeps three times and won’t make coffee. The user guide is no help. A cup of coffee shouldn’t be this complicated.
1 reply from Cuisinart team - 3 days ago
We're sorry to hear your Custom Grind & Brew Single-Cup Coffee Maker is not operating as expected right out of the box. If the unit grinds but beeps three times without brewing, please ensure the water reservoir is fully seated, the water inlet is unobstructed, and all components are properly installed before attempting another brew or cleaning cycle. Please contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190 and reference Ticket #8901097790 so we can further troubleshoot the issue and assist with available options. Thank you for sharing your experience; your feedback has been provided to the appropriate team, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

Best Cup of Coffee Ever!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a coffeemaker to replace my Keurig because I miss having that good high quality cup of coffee. I bought the Cuisinart because it grinds fresh beans and makes one cup at a time. It’s very easy to use and I love my coffee again!!

This is a pretty great product.
We are loving our custom grand and brew. It took a few tries to learn how to use it and a few times it would run water and not grind, but now that issue seems to have solved itself. Love having a fresh cup of coffee each time and with a different strength for my husband and I.

Whole beans get stuck in grinder
Great coffee, but if you are using whole beans, it jams almost every time! Having to stop and clean out the beans and grinder when it jams up does not make for a smooth morning.
1 reply from Cuisinart team - 8 days ago
We're glad to hear you're enjoying the coffee from the Custom Grind & Brew Single-Cup Coffee Maker, but we're sorry to learn the grinder is frequently jamming. To help improve performance, we recommend using dry, non-oily whole beans, avoiding overfilling the bean hopper, and periodically cleaning the grinder area to remove any buildup that could restrict bean flow. If the issue continues, please contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190 and reference Ticket #8901093053 so we can provide additional troubleshooting assistance. Thank you for sharing your feedback; your comments are valuable to us and help support our ongoing efforts to improve our products and consumer experience.

Great ideas!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The coffee is fresh and hot! Love that I can ground or brew from grounds. Makes good iced coffee, as well, but you can't grind beans to get iced-you have to use already ground.

Wish I hadn't bought it.
Messy basket. I need to use nearly twice the coffee to have the strength I want. It's put away and the old Keurig is back to work.
1 reply from Cuisinart team - 10 days ago
We're sorry to hear the Custom Grind & Brew Single-Cup Coffee Maker did not deliver the brewing experience you were looking for. For a stronger cup, we recommend experimenting with a finer grind, increasing the amount of coffee used within the recommended limits, and ensuring the filter basket and brew components are clean and properly seated, as this can help optimize extraction and reduce excess moisture in the basket. If you'd like additional troubleshooting assistance, please contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190 and reference Ticket #8901090039. So far, so good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to wait awhile after buying this to write a review - give us a chance to use it for a bit. I was looking for a single cup, whole bean coffee pot. We have used a pod pot for quite a few years and I got tired of all the pods that were filling up the trash, but I wanted to stay with a single cup brew as making a pot of coffee is always a waste as well as the fact that we like different strength coffee. Fresh ground upped the ante. There was a learning curve for the first week of using, remembering to empty the filter after every use, learning what all the lights are telling you, don't try to pack the beans in, even very lightly, as it will jam the grinder, etc. But now that we've used it for a month, we are really enjoying it. My husband and I really like that we can brew different strengths and quantities of coffee that comes out like we want it. Another family member likes the iced coffee option. Haven't tried the ground option but am looking forward to occasionally trying a different flavor this way. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for this kind of coffee maker! Gave it a 4 out of 5 only because we've only had it a month and haven't used all the options.
