submitted byFTWL - 4 months agoA: Hello, If your hair is naturally straight, this is not the product for you. Curl Maker is specifically designed for people with curly/coily/kinky hair. It enhances their natural curl pattern while reducing frizz. It's a great product, but not for the hair type you've described. I would recommend you braid your or even try bantu knots (look on YouTube), sleep in them, and release them in the morning. This may give you a temporary curly/wavvy texture that you desire. Q: Would this work for caucasian 2C/3A curls w/fine to medium thick strands, a lot of frizz (from DevaCurl damage) & body, but not that much hair. The body & curls kind of hide that I don't have tons of hair. Thank you!

I liked my curls but i cant stand the smell!! If you are familiar with car mechanic smells. Thats what it reminds me of. My husband said it reminded him of his car soap ...to me it reminds me like car oil !?!

I love this product. If you're reading a bad review about flaking & residue, chances are those people aren't using it correctly. I have very fine hair which is easily weighed down so I have to use minimal product. This has been the BEST yet after spending a lot of money trying to find a great hold/'curl maker' without a gunky, weighed down feeling. It 100% IS Aa curl maker & leaves my hair soft with a SLIGHT crunch to scrunch out. Day 2 & 3 I can easily reactivate with water. If you know how to use product on wavy/curly hair (ON WET HAIR) try this! It's NOT flaky, gunky, and doesn't smell like maple syrup. It's the best stuff I've tried and I won't be trying anymore for a very long time!

My hair really does well with The Curl Maker gel. I have 4c hair and I do mostly wash and go styles because my hair is fine. Over the years I have gotten so many compliments on my curls from some of everybody! I use it after a leave in, and then the Camille moisture milk. One of the keys to success for me is to make sure my hair is really wet, then I just let it air dry. Works well like that.

I have kinky hair, so I purchased this thinking that, at the very least, I'd have a new product to use for my twist-outs. i did NOT expect to have upper respiratory irritation! The product gets VERY flaky, turning sections of my hair white/grey. While trying to refresh my twist-out, the product flaked all over my clothes and I breathed in way more of it than I realized. I've been coughing, sneezing, and uncomfortable trying to get it out of my system all morning. Stay away from this product!

This was my go to for years! I’m not really sure what’s happening but lately it’s been leaving a ton of white residue in my hair. I’m gonna try using a bit less to see if that helps but I was shocked when I was getting ready to wash my hair this morning

If you are scent sensitive, do NOT buy this. The smell is terrible to the point I was miserable. It is a foam and not a mousse, and for me the hold was not there for me. I have 2b waves and my ends were soft but defined, but my roots were not. The next day there was no definition anywhere. So this should be used with something else.

I have natural hair and heard this was a great base gel for nice definition and decent hold. Base gel, being that you need to top this product with either a heavier gel or mousse. Day 1 hair looked great but there were heavy flakes present. Also, I found that any kind of humidity or water resulted in a lot of frizz. I used one pump per medium sized section, maybe that was too much, not sure. I could see it working for others, just didn’t impress me much.

The products felt really nice when mixed with the leave-in from Camille Rose, I also went over both the crawl maker and leave in with the Ouidad frizz control gel. Perfect in my opinion for a good wash and go, but does have a slightly irritating aroma to my nose. Other than that, it is good
