Utilizing the humectant properties of the agave nectar, Curling Custard will give weight to your hair, define your curls, remove frizz, provide long-lasting hold and shine without ever being greasy, crunchy or drying.

How to Use:
Apply the Kinky-Curly Knot Today (for best results) on very wet hair*. Apply custard evenly in sections to very wet hair^.
Smooth the custard into each section from roots to ends. If sections start to dry out, spray water into hair and then add custard. Thicker tighter curls need more product and loose wavy curls use less.
Use more product for very controlled curls and use less product if you want more fullness and body. Allow hair to air dry, do not touch hair while it is drying or it will start to frizz. Then dry gently scrunch out the crunch.
* If it is not wet enough your hair will dry sticky.
^ If it is not applied evenly you will get frizz.

Q: I have a tapered TWA. How would I use this product to get curl definition?

A: What works for me is applying the gel to my hair while soaking wet. Apply custard section by section as raking the custard through your hair with your fingers. Similar to how you'd do a wash and go. Hope this helps! This product works better for my curl definition, better than any other product I've used in the past.

When you find the right ratio between water and the product, you will get GREAT curl definition. It may take a couple of times of experimenting, but when you get it down, you won't be disappointed.

A: I have used Kinky Curly for the past 2 years. The Kinky Curly Custard does NOT rub off. Yes, it has a Strong and Moisturizing hold.

A: For best results apply CURLING CUSTARD TM to soaking wet, freshly washed hair. For very kinky and tightly coiled hair use KNOT TODAY TM as a leave-in conditioner then apply CURLING CUSTARD TM to soaking wet hair in small sections. Smooth each section with fingers from root to tip.

This product gives some definition to my wavy curly hair and I thought it was ok but it is extremely drying. I couldn’t figure out why my hair has been so dry the past few months. I have been deep conditioning my hair a lot and it would always end up dry and frizzy again. I finally realized it is because of this product. This product is not cheap and I will never use it again!

Wonderful, dependable styler for years. Works great on 4a hair. Very hydrating & defining. It speeds up the wash n go process. Only drawback is it is pricey & flakes a bit when used with their leave in conditioner after a couple of days. The flakes aren’t as visible in the hair but when your hair moves throughout the day flakes fall on your clothes & it shows up on dark colors. If that gets solved without impacting quality that would be fantastic.

I looooove this product. I’ve been curious about this product and glad I finally tried it. I have difficulty finding a curly hair product that works really well for me and has ingredients I feel good about using on my body. This ticked all the boxes. I have medium thickness and mix of 2b/2c curls with lots of frizz. I use a small amount on very wet hair (I use this company’s Knot today leave in conditioner first), scrunch it in, then don’t touch it again while it air dries. It leaves my curls defined but not crunchy. I only need to slightly scrunch to remove the cast. It also tames the frizz significantly (I’ve accepted I’ll always have a little frizz). it’s a very good value because you need only a small amount. The scent is very minimal and pleasant. One of the ingredients is Marshmallow- I mean who doesn’t love Marshmallows?!

Literally the only gel that works for my hair. I love the smell the texture everything. My hair is thick and with 2c-3a curls and it defines them like no other gel and ive tried them almost all. I only like to use shampoo and this gel on wash days and maybe a camile rose cream when my hair feels rough. But the only complain is the price. Its so expensive but i dont use other products so its ok i guess

I find it crazy how a product named kinky curly is clearly marketed towards people who have thin hair. If you have thick, curly or coily hair, you will get 1-2 uses out of this very small bottle. So if you’re wearing a wash and go weekly, be prepared to pay $60-$80 a month for this product. Clearly, nobody is doing that and this product isn’t marketed for those with naturally thick, very dry, and frizzy hair. I also find the product to be too sticky and my scalp starts itching after day 3.

The thing that makes my curly/wavy hair amazing. Can’t tell you how many times I got asked what hair product I use to style my hair. Love ittttt TARGET NEEDS TO PUT IT BACK IN STORES!!! Please!!!! After, I shower, I detangle with the Kinky Curly Leave-In detangler. Then I use this custard, all over! It would go great on its own, sometimes I just seal in my curls with a spray of hairspray on top, (the suave level 8 non scented type).

I am South Asian and my hair is thick, has medium coarseness and medium porosity. I have mostly 3A and 2C curls. This gel is amazing for my hair. It’s the last step in my styling routine after I shower and apply a tiny bit of curl cream. I apply this gel to my wet hair where I can still here the “squish” and am able to get amazing definition and hold using the praying hands and raking method. I diffuse partially and air dry the rest. This gel helps my curls last A WEEK. It’s a powerful product so it did take some experimenting to identify the right amount I need for my hair. It has a sweet smell which I don’t mind but isn’t noticeable after my hair dries. It leaves a strong cast after drying which is what I need for my hair and then when I scrunch it out after my hair is fully dry, the results are amazing. I finish with some jojoba oil and my hair is good to last most of the week. I always get compliments on my curls and rave about this product. I don’t think their other items are as amazing to warrant the price but this is my all time fave gel. Keeps hold even in humid weather! I love that I can use it year round without having to swap products.
