What is out now is definitely another new formulation of this product. Even though it says there’s SWEET ALMOND MILK in this product still, it’s not on the current ingredient listing on this website for it nor on the current labeling of the 2 jars of it I recently bought of it either. Yes, I most definitely have tried previous formulations of this product. I will tell consumers to always pay attention to the ingredients of a product before you buy it in-store, or after you receive it from buying a product via online and having it shipped out to you. Because, companies can change formulations for their products ant anytime, and not let consumers immediately know about it, if they happen to do it publicly via social media first at all. In regards to the current scent of this product, its scent is very pronounced. The scent, of this product from the very 1st time I purchased it several years ago, never smelled 100% natural to me. It has always smelled artificial. I want to say, that added fragrance within a product isn’t a need. Consumers predominantly look for product performance and affordability the most, and a lot of consumers today are desperately seeking out fragrance free products more and more nowadays than before. I do have eczema, but I still decided to give the new formula a try, so that I could see if this product formulation had been reformulated for the better or not, personally myself. In regards to a product’s raw ingredients giving off a possible unpleasant scent, a company can always use a pleasing natural oil to cover up the smell of it. I say this because, there are tons of people in this world who suffer with medical conditions that affect their breathing, or people with severe allergy issues, skin conditions, etc., that can’t use products with added fragrance within them, or there’s simply people in this world who prefer to go the fragrance free route, which is understandable. There has never been any transparency in regards to what is being used towards the added fragrance in this product or any Camille Rose product to be exact, I hope that the company will start providing greater transparency towards such in the future for sure. I also want to add that essential oils being used for fragrance purposes, or “natural fragrance” being used for fragrance purposes, has the ability to cause harm to the body in the same way that synthetic fragrances can. This product has a very nutty aroma with a splash of sweetness to it that sorta resembles vanilla frosting, but not totally. With the current new version, the product is straight up white in color. It is a dense cream. By that, I mean when I turn the jar over, the product inside doesn’t move. This is the 1st time I’ve ever seen it completely white in color and this thick and dense in texture as well. It’s not like a typical styling hair butter in look or texture, regards to it’s current formulation. This product can be used for a variety of hairstyling options, not just twists, okay. This product is made up of predominantly oils. So, you have to be extremely careful with how much you use, because if not, your hair will end up with a greasy afterfeel for sure. Also, for anyone that has very acne prone skin, please be cautious when using this product, because plenty of people do get acne based upon hair care products that contain a lot of oils or butters in them or both. Oh, and amount of aloe in this product is very minimal. Therefore, you’re not getting any major benefit from it. If it was in the top 7 ingredients, then you would be able to receive major benefits from it. The first 7 ingredients within any product is what consumers should always focus heavily upon, because that is what a product heavily consists of the most. Water put into a product as the first ingredient, is for major dilution purposes. Water itself is not a moisturizer. The natural sebum that comes from out of our scalp’s follicles is our hair’s natural moisturizer. This product should only be considered a styling product. Therefore, with all of the oils in this product, using a leave in with oil underneath this product, or adding a separate oil to your hair, before or after using this product, is basically “oil overkill” for your hair and your scalp’s follicles, which can become easily clogged, due to them being super small. Plus, when introducing any new product into your hair care routine, I can’t stress this enough , please clarify your hair first. This will allow for you to start off with the most cleanest slate possible, when it comes to both your hair and scalp. Now, I don’t have major issues with frizz, due to long term proper maintenance and care of my hair. However, for someone that constantly has issues with frizz, with it being the worst when the weather gets hot, i’m being straight up honest with you, when I say, it takes from what you use product wise to to how you regularly style your hair to best combat frizz. 1 product alone doesn’t have the ability to completely take away frizz or keep it away either. For reference, I do have a mix of straight and wavy hair that is fine textured, low density, and high porosity. The only way to find out if a product will work for me, in any capacity is through regular old “trial and error”. For my hair, the current formulation of this product is one that I don’t particularly care for all that much. The oils that it has withiin it, you can find in tons of other products out there, so the oils in it aren’t anything new that has already touched my hair stranding before. It’s just the amount of oils are combined together. Yes, aloe is being promoted within this product, but there’s hardly any aloe in it, so there’s not even enough in it for it to truly do anything substantial towards your hair. The issue for me, is that I could tolerate it much better when it used to have aloe much higher within it’s formula, and the ingredient formulations were different. When you have a high amount of aloe in a product, even if it does have oils in it, the aloe works to better counteract the oiliness, and it also has the ability to provide some level of hold as well, if used in high amount within a hair styling product. I’m not getting any level of real hold with this product. And, because, my allergies are getting worse and I feel that the smell of this product’s current formulation is overfragranced, how is that helping my health or even my hair in any type of way? So, after giving it a fair try, and taking the things I mentioned into full consideration, I felt it was best, for me to stop usage of it early on and I ended up throwing away both jars of it that I had bought into the trash. I must say this, if a company is gonna keep going up on the prices for their products, then so should the quality of the product be improved upon for the better to match such prices as well. I am thankful that I am blessed to be able to afford both cheap and expensive hair care products, per my desire. But, there are plenty of people in this world that can’t regularly shell out almost $17 or more every 2 weeks or so for an 8 oz styling product. I understand this is a Black founded and owned brand, but the products within this line are being bought by individuals of different ages, different ethnicities, all with different spending budgets. I ask that the owner of this brand please take that into major consideration. I ask that the owner of this brand please also start seeking to offer more fragrance free products as well.
