A: HI Chris, the envelope of powder itself has 140 calories, 1g of Total Fat, 27g of Carbohydrates and 5g of Protein. The serving of powder is recommended to mix with 1 cup of Skim Milk, which increases the Calorie count to 220, the Total Carbohydrate to 40g and the Protein to 13g. My kids love this mix, which helps fill the gaps in their diet restrictions. They do not enjoy Boost flavor, which is recommended in lue of Breakfast Essentials. This mix has been a staple in our household, and we need it for optimal health.

I’m a long time consumer if your light start powder. Recently it doesn’t mix completely, seems since you changed the packaging. Why only 8 packets in a box and why is it more expensive? It has less sugar, what gives?

Love Carnation
We have been drinking Carnation Instant Breakfast in our house for years. I wish you sold the classic French vanilla or strawberry in the canister since we aren't chocolate fans. We would buy it more if we could get it this way.

Great quick breakfast or added to a smoothie
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I remember drinking carnation instant breakfast when I was a kid, this updated version of the product I have never thought to try though and I was not disappointed! The taste is a rich chocolate, even my husband liked it and he’s not a fan of chocolate drinks. He used it in milk and I used it in almond milk and it tasted great. It recommends 8 oz, but it is a little thick that way so if it’s too thick you can add it to a larger amount of liquid. It does take a lot of stirring to mix in, I recommend a whisk or small blender to get it mixed together better. I have also branched out and tried the vanilla and strawberry flavors now and they are great in my smoothies I make with frozen berries! I am on a gluten free diet and have not had any issues drinking this. While it is gluten free there are cross contamination risks for this so obviously be cautious if you have more specific limitations. But for me this is a great option when I need some extra calories.
