As an alternative option we recommend you try our CeraVe Hydrating Sunscreen as this product is considered Coral Reef safe. CeraVe Hydrating Sunscreen does not contain oxybenzone or octinoxate. It is formualted with mineral sunscreen filters zinc oxide and titanium dioxide which are compliant for sale in Hawaii and Key West. I used to use the original CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion with SPF, and it worked for a while, but my assumption is that with the passing of time, my skin has changed because of hormones (the pill, likely), and the original became too heavy and greasy for my skin. I switched to the Ultra Light one for oilier skin and it’s been absolutely wonderful. My T-zone is normal and feels baby-soft, my acne has gone down, and despite the fact that physical sunscreens tend to work better on me than chemical sunscreens typically do, this one is the exception (I’m VERY pale btw). If I just use it after washing, it is matte/semi-matte, but since I usually use a toner and niacinamide serum before it, it has a semi-matte/healthy, natural finish (which is exactly what I wanted, I didn’t want to look like a donut or oil slick like before but I also didn’t want to look too dull or powdery). I’m really grateful that you guys made this sunscreen because my confidence has gone up so much more since I started using it that I’m starting to get emotional😭, like when I look in the mirror, I finally feel like something actually WORKS and I don’t have to cringe at my reflection (not the one in the mirror, just the one on my forehead lol). I finally feel like my skin is normal

Male, 24, Who just got into a Facial Skin care routine this year. I use the PM ultra lightweight facial moisturizer at night, And I use the Hydrating Facial Cleanser in the green bottle mornings and night. and to start my day I use this bad boy with 30 SPF. Works great and I love the new bottle design! You guys better keep it like that. I like it way better. I have a question though, Why doesnt this cream have Niacimide? the PM one has what i consider the big Three ( Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramides, Niacimide). So my question is why doesn't this one have Niacimide? Does it have something to do with a chemical reaction? Anyways I love this product and won't be changing it anytime soon. Also, Can you guys make on exactly like this in a 50 SPF ultra light weight facial moisturizing lotion?! would be great!

I have loved and used this sunscreen for years. I have combination, sensitive, acne-prone skin and it's great. I love how hydrating it feels, it goes on nicely and dries down quickly. I hate the new packaging. There is definitely less product because it go through it way faster now. I also wish there was an SPF 50 version of this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a sample of this in the mail and was very excited to try it. I really like CeraVe products and thought I would enjoy this as well. The AM facial moisturizing lotion is oil fee, which I like, and contains spf, though it only contains a 30 spf-which is fine for under makeup but not as use for a standalone sunscreen. The only downside for me is it gives me little white bumps/pimples after wearing for a couple hours (I’m 57 and break out with everything). My daughters are mid-twenties and use this daily with no issues - it is their favorite.

But for the tester the texture is like a baby’s bottem I love how it shows me all the ingredients . And don’t start on the packaging its such a shiny look in the sunlight or good lighting .

I normally use mineral sunscreens on my face as chemical filters tend to burn and sting my eyes and irritate my skin. This one feels nice and light on the skin, a little more glowy than I expected, but managed to burn my eyes pretty badly even though I was super careful to avoid my eye area. I think some must have transferred when applying makeup. Took a few hours for the burning to stop which I cannot tolerate. Returned for refund.

I loved this product the first couple of weeks I used it. However, on week three, I noticed that my chin had hives. A few days after, my face started to itch. I then found out after looking closer that my entire face was in hives and it distorted my pores. Now I'm mostly dealing with pily skin as it exits my pores. I really wanted to keep using it, and while I still think it's a good product, it's no longer for me.

This used to be my every day go-to face lotion. With my recent purchase, I noticed they changed from a long, skinny tube (which I loved) to a shorter, fatter tube. But that’s not the reason for the 2 stars. The reason for 2 stars is that half of my tube is air! This never happened with the previous packaging. I feel like I have been ripped off. Every morning when I go to use it, I pump approximately 10 times before product comes out. Every day! Is this why you changed the packaging? Shrinkflation? So disappointed in Cerave.

This id a chemical sunscreen, so I was surprised when it didn’t break me out (im acne prone). It has the regular sunscreen smell you’d expect from a regular sunscreen. It’s nice that to find a sunscreen that also moisturizes your skin, this product is worth the money.
Goes on sheer and clear and protects from the sun for two hours.

Goes on sheer and gives both sun protection (SPF 30) and moisture to your delicate facial skin. It’s a chemical sunscreen so it leaves no white cast. I usually leave it on for about 20 minutes so it can really soak in before I put on my make up. Like all sunscreens it needs to be reapplied every couple hours. It can be applied on top of make up. I just put it on my skin that already has foundation on it and then 20 minutes later I put on some face powder to reduce the shine. It works great, but it does need to be re-applied at least a couple times a day for full sun protection.

I’ve had a pretty clear face until I used this product. I might be my skin but my skin started to break out pretty bad. And I personally don’t wanna throw shade on the company I’ve used there products before it didn’t work for me but for some they do. It was just not the right fit.

I have been using this lotion for a few months now but I felt compelled to write a review after my beach trip last week. Admittedly I suck at reapplying sunscreen to my face but even with just one application after I wash my face in the AM my face didn’t burn versus the rest of my body where I DID reapply sunscreen frequently. I haven’t been able to get on board with using regular sunscreen on my face in the past cause it would always feel too heavy and greasy but this lotion isn’t either of those things. It goes on smooth and absorbs nicely. I have worn it under makeup as well. I have sensitive skin and haven’t experienced any adverse reactions.
