Q: How does this product differ from Cetaphil Gentle Facial Wash? Which do you recommend for Rosacea?

submitted by EGME - 8 months ago
  • A: Hi there! This is our Gentle Skin Cleanser. It is a creamy formula that is clinically proven to provide continuous hydration to protect against dryness. It's also formulated with Micellar Technology that gently yet effectively removes dirt, makeup and impurities. For Rosacea, we recommend trying our Redness Relieving Foaming Face Wash. It gently cleanses to remove dirt, impurities and excess oil without over-drying or irritating redness prone, sensitive skin. Hope this helps!

Q: Hi, is this just for the face or can it be used on the body? Instead of bar soap?

submitted by Miasmommy - 9 months ago
  • A: Hi there! While Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is primarily designed for use on the face, it can also be used on the body if desired. If you choose to use Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser on your body, it's important to keep in mind that it may not be the most efficient option for larger areas. The formula is designed for gentle cleansing, and may not be as effective at removing heavy dirt, sweat, or debris from the skin as a body wash or soap. Additionally, it may not be the most cost-effective option for regular body use. Instead of using Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser on your body, explore the Cetaphil range of gentle bars and body washes available. Hope this helps!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to like the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser but it just doesn’t compare to the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser I use regularly (also an Influenster discovery!). The gentle cleanser doesn’t lather as much and doesn’t feel like it gets into my skin as deeply as the regular cleanser. As a result, I’ve been using more product to feel like my skin is truly clean. As someone with sensitive skin, I’ve never had an issue with the daily facial cleanser so I wouldn’t make the switch to the gentle cleanser.

Gentle and Non-Irritating, But Limited Results

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is a reliable option for those with sensitive skin. It’s non-irritating, free of strong fragrances, and does a decent job of cleansing without stripping moisture. The packaging is simple and functional — nothing fancy, but easy to use with a pump that dispenses the right amount of product. However, in my experience, it didn’t offer any noticeable benefits beyond basic cleansing. It didn’t help with acne or improve my skin’s overall appearance. A safe choice for minimal skincare routines, but not a game-changer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sent the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser for review by Influenster. I generally like products by Cetaphil as I like that they are fragrance free and good for sensitive skin. This cleanser was all of that. I used it with water as that’s what I’m used to doing with a cleanser and I found it creamy and definitely hydrating. But I didn’t feel like I was getting a deep clean of my skin. I don’t wear heavy makeup and it felt ok on my skin. If I was wearing more makeup I don’t think it would be as effective. But I do like how hydrating the product was. It’s not something I would buy but I would still use Cetaphil products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the product for a little while now and I am very impressed. I understand there is a new formula and I actually had used the prior formulation which unfortunately broke me out despite the sensitive ingredients. Happy to report that I don’t have the same issue with this product. It is moisturising and gentle, no fragrance and a little goes a long way. I use this in my double cleansing routine as step 2 as it isn’t oily enough to remove makeup but it’s super gentle on the skin.

After using this for the last week my skin hasn’t broken out or acted poorly to the change. It’s not drying nor oily , so I’d definitely recommend for combination sensitive skin.

I’ve been using Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser for months now, and it’s hands-down one of the best cleansers for sensitive or dry skin. The creamy, non-foaming texture feels soft and soothing, not harsh or stripping at all. It washes away light dirt and oil without leaving that tight, stripped feeling some cleansers give. There’s practically no scent, which is a huge plus for comfort. My skin feels clean, hydrated, and calm after use—no irritation or dryness. Because it’s so mild, I use it every morning and night. Even though it isn’t strong enough to completely remove heavy makeup, it’s perfect for daily cleansing. Affordable, effective, and gentle—this one’s a staple for me.

With the weather changing from winter to spring, my skin has changed from being a bit dry to being a little irritated from all the changes in the air. However, using this cleanser has not irritated my skin. Instead, it has kept it calm in both feeling and appearance. I love how calming it feels on my skin every time I use this and my skin is always left feeling so soft and appearing refreshed.

I’ve been using the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser for a while and it’s exactly what my normal-to-dry skin needed. It has a creamy texture that cleans without stripping or leaving that tight feeling. I like that it contains glycerin and vitamins B3 & B5, which really help my skin stay soft and hydrated. Another plus is that it’s fragrance-free and dermatologist-recommended, so it never irritates, even when my skin is a bit sensitive. The pump bottle is convenient and a little goes a long way, making it great value for the size. If you want a simple, reliable cleanser that soothes while it cleans, this is a fantastic choice. My skin feels refreshed and comfortable every time.

If I could give this a zero, I would. I have never been so disappointed in a company for changing a perfect product. The original formula gentle skin cleanser worked great, was non-irritating, and took off makeup beautifully without drying skin. I work as a dermatology physician assistant and recommended it multiple times per day. The new cleaner leaves a film, causes rashes and acne and stings the eyes. Give us a choice of the old product- the original formula was around for so many years because it was great! So sad!
