Upset with new Clean Matte Formula
I thought it was only me noticing a problem. Apparently the formula changed and now the buff beige I've used for over 10 years has a shimmer to it, its lighter and it enhances my fine lines and wrinkles. I even bought three more thinking the first one was just bad, hoping they'd be like the old buff beige, turns out formula has changed. Cover Girl don't fix what is not broken. Keep your good selling products with the same formula. You should've made a Clean Matte 2.0 if you needed to try the new formula out. But don't upset millions of your customers just to be on par with "new times". I'm definitely switching to another brand.

Unusable now that they changed it to some glittery formula. Looks absolutely horrible. I used it for 30 years prior to this inexplicable change. Don’t buy it.

Time to switch brands
The new formula is terrible. I have used this powder for 40 years. I too thought I had a bad batch and kept buying from different stores to find out the research that the formula has changed. Why would you change a formula after half a decade that’s so many people used and loved? I am now switching and trying to find a similar brand to the old formula cover girl, if you do switch back, you had better advertise that far and wide to try and gain back some loyal customers… so sad.

Another unhappy customer who hates the new formula
I've used the CG Clean Matte Pressed Powder so many years and been very loyal, but I'm crushed to know that the product is now completely different. As others have said, CG has added a pearlized glimmer to it, which is NOT what you want in a product that is supposed to blot oil and tone down shine. Not only does it give my face an odd, unnatural gleam, the light shade is bizarrely pale, almost white, and goes on unevenly. If I had a child who was playing a unicorn in her school play, I would use this product to give her skin a white, pearly, shimmery glow, but I would never recommend it for an adult. As others have mentioned, it highlights imperfections in the skin such as pores and wrinkles, rather than minimizing them. As another reviewer pointed out, this is also frustrating because even if our feedback means that the original formula is eventually brought back, how will we ever know, since they have kept the packaging of this new formula identical to the original? I've got 4 new packages I will be throwing out (I wouldn't even give it to a friend) and after 20 years I'll be shopping for an another brand that makes a matte powder, I guess.

BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA
If I could give it zero stars I would. I have been using this pressed powder ever since they reformulated it from the original (like way back in 2006) and I have loved it since then. BUT - they recently reformulated it again and it is AWFUL. It says "clean matte" and they have added a luminous ingrediant to it, so it is no longer matte. My face has a luminous appearance to it now which emphasises the ever growing wrinkles and fine lines on my 38 year old face. The color no longer matches my skin tone (it's lighter in color now). It doesn't have the staying power like it used it and will start to get patchy after a few hours. It's also dry and flakey-looking when applied to my skin now. The powder also gets clumpy in the case now and I'm not sure why. None of these problems I have had in the last 20 years until now. I am so angry at myself because I always purchase extra to have on hand and now I have 4 of them that I can't even use. BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA!!

Dollar fee just to pick up my curbside item what a rip off
Use the item for years, and I have no complaints whatsoever. When I have a complaint about is Target charged me one dollar to pick it up curbside no bag at all. When I called to ask what the one dollar was for I was told they charge $.10 for a paper bag and I got no bag I said no it’s one dollar and they could not help me.

This is a good product. I got it for my daughter for her first foundation because it was low coverage. She liked it but now that she is older she needs something else. I got the shade buff beige which worked great but they should probably have a bigger shade range. It looked great, easy for her to apply but needed a brush because the applicator inside did not work well. Overall great for younger kids or if you're just wanting a lower coverage foundation.

Bring back the old
I have been using this product for 30 years in the Classic Ivory. Covergirl changed the formula and I now look pale and shimmery and it sets in ane enhances every crease or line in face..won’t ever buy again. And the worst is they kept the packaging the same so I bought multiples thinking I had a defective batch…bait and switch!! They should have at least warned of the formula change. What a waste of money

Clean Matte Compact Face Powder Change
I have been using this powder for as long as I can remember but you have changed something. Instead of being matte it looks shimmery or glittery. My nose looks shiny now. Feels uncomfortable on my face...like I want to wipe my face off after I get to work. Not the same coverage. Terrible oil shine and gets gunky with the oil on your face. Absolutely hate it! Currently looking for something else to use. Maybe Clinique? Just terrible!

Disappointing colour change
I have bought 535 med light for many years. the new product is the same code and colour but is much darker. I will now have to source a new brand and colour.

New Formula is Horrible!!!
Why did you change ingredients? This is no longer matt, just shiny looking powder that enhances my pores instead of concealing them. I used this powder for so, so many years, but unless you change it back, I will start the search for a powder for oily skin that actually works. So sad!

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL new formula
So many users are reporting that we ALL hate the new formula! Did no one from Covergirl actually try this before it was distributed? As another user pointed out, by not changing the packaging to signify a change, I thought maybe I got a bad batch and continued to purchase this from different stores hoping to find the good ones again. I wasted so much money on this horrible new stuff that I’ve had to just toss in the trash. Please tell us that you hear us and are bringing back the original. And let us know if you do because with the same packing we will never know if you changed it back. I have tried all of the other powders by you but haven’t found one that is good for me. You have lost a very loyal customer (many, many customers, I’m sure!) and I’m so disappointed. I understand that sometimes things change, but you were wrong to not change the packaging to let us know this was a different product than we were all used to. You tried to fool us but it didn’t work!

Not happy
I thought it was only me but clearly others having been having issues with this product as of late. I've used shade 555 for a while now but after buying the new one I look pale! Also, the product doesnt come onto the applicator easily, I need to scrape the top to loosen a bit of the powder

Don’t know what they changed, but it’s terrible
I have been using this powder for years, with the same routine, now it leaves my makeup so patchy and unset. After a few hours my makeup looks terrible.

New formula is a flop
Nope. This is "not it". At least, not anymore... :( Why change an old classic? If you must, then have the decency to discontinue it and create a new line, instead of gaslighting us all by changing the formula but keeping the packaging the same. New formula is too "pearly". Same Classic Ivory shade I've used for decades is now more pale and bright. The formula cakes up on the applicator puff, and doesn't control oil like before. And I look all flaky! Sad.
