Q: Does this come with the sponge /applicator? The one I bought at a Target store didn’t come with it, and I thought that Netrogena pressed powder always comes with it.

A: Hi Emily! I do believe that powder should have included a sponge applicator. I am sure Target would be happy to exchange it for you. Most beauty items bought in stores or online can be returned, even if opened, within 90 days with your receipt, or up to 120 days if purchased with your Target REDcard™. Great brand
This is a great drugstore brand powder. It reduces and prevents shine. Doesn’t have an odor and shows results quickly. It has a great consistency and is easy to take with you on the hi. The powder comes out easily and spreads onto your skin easily without being cakey.

I was really surprised how well it works. It has a super light texture that is easily applied and leaves the skin with a very natural matte finish, without looking heavy or cardboard. I like that it controls the brightness for several hours, especially in the T zone, which is usually the most complicated. In addition, it does not dry out or leave a feeling of tightness, something that I value very much because my skin is mixed. I use it both alone, for a more natural look, and to seal the makeup, and in both cases it leaves the skin soft and fresh. The only thing I noticed is that on very hot days I need to touch it up once, but it still keeps the face looking clean and without excess fat.

I’ve been trying the Neutrogena Shine Control Powder, and here’s my take: It instantly mattifies my face and helps control shine—especially around my T-zone—and keeps that fresh, matte look going for about 8 hours thanks to its rice protein “sponge” technology. It layers invisibly over makeup (or works just as well solo) and doesn’t clog my pores or over-dry my skin.   That said, it’s not perfect for everyone—some people have reported irritation, a chalky or white cast, or texture issues if used on dry patches.   Overall, it’s a lightweight and affordable go-to for shine control if your skin plays well with it.

Best mattifying translucent powder
This is my favorite face powder!!! I don’t wear a lot of makeup so I just like a setting powder that’s translucent and will keep my oily skin under control and this does the trick. I absolutely love this powder and will not be switching out anytime soon.
